Re: Trade Week and Draft 2011 - Who would you like to see at your club?

Surely a troll?

I'd like to see Pendles, Murphy, Garry Ablett Jr, Garry Ablett Sn, John Coleman and Dwight Howard at our club

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

banfield for jobe watson? would be a bargin for essendon;) i think he would stay. But i think he has another year or two ill try to find out and post back. But what would you be willing to give for him

I'm not a sure how valuable to the club he is, but I'd probably do something like Jake Carlisle + first rounder.

I like Banfield... but bejeezus that would not be worth our while.

Essentially two x pick 20 for one player who, IMHO, you could pretty regularly replace with that sort of pick

Re: Trade Week and Draft 2011 - Who would you like to see at your club?

This is what i think will happen with melbourne:
Melbourne trade Matthew Warnock to Hawthorn
Hawthorn trade second round daft pick to Port
Port trade Hartlett to Melbourne

Obviously a troll but if you wanted to chuck in Scully as well it might get it over the line.

A little biased probably my favorite player outside of Essendon, paying overs but you gotta pay quality to get quality.

Carlisle is fair way off the side, and with Daniher coming soon, how many KPP can we keep on the list. (Hurley, Pears, Ryder, TB, Hille, Fletcher, Hooker, Davis, Gumbleton) Plus I think Banfield will become a top 20 player in the competition in a couple of years. Brisbane should see the potential in him, and would expect fair compensation.

I dont see Banfield becoming one of the top 20 players, I dont think Hird would trade Cameri he did rate him this seasons Michael Barlow.

Only becomes an issue when one of them outside the 22 can genuinely be miffed they're not getting a game, until then it's a luxury we can afford. At that point we will be holding a fairly big trump card in what is always a seller's market (young talls).

Of your list there, TB/Ryder aren't competing for the same spot; Fletch/Hille are both past 30; and Gumbie's still broken... in two years it could well be down to Hurley/Pears/Hooker/Davis/Carlisle... just barely enough.
IMHO Carlisle could well be Brisbane's best choice for CHF or CHB as early as next year, at 21 odd with plenty of potential I wouldn't want to sell him short.

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

I dont see Banfield becoming one of the top 20 players.

I was being a bit generous, considering the top 50 or so players are 90% midfielders and KPP, I see him more like being top 2 in his position, think Ryan O'Keefe circa 2005-06, Le Cras 09, Stevie J 07.

I haven't ridden off Gumbleton just yet, as they do think they have isolated his problem and based on his last season he would be best 22 atm instead of Ryder.

Ryder/Pears/Hooker/Hurley/Gumby plus Davis, Myers and Crameri who can play KPP if they need to, plus Bellchambers/Jenkins(Daniher). Is still quite a few ahead of him. I did like the look of Carlisle, but I don't think he is huge loss, for what we could potentially get.

I think Banfield would be an excellent addition to our side, would beef up our midfield rotation, allowing Jetta and Zaha more time in the middle without losing anything up forward. With the absence of form for Reimers, Monfries and Davey we need to start looking at more medium small options up forward and the bloodnut will be as good as any going around.

More likely Carlisle and second rounder, looks better for us, but wouldn't be enough to get a contracted Banfield IMO.

what would you want for cameri

Would need to pay overs to get him, I rate him very highly, not necessarily based on his skill, but more that he is a rare type of player that teams find very hard to match up on.
Too agile for most key defenders, too big and strong for most mediums, has a big tank and works hard both ways, and he fits in beautifully next to two key forwards. I personally wouldn't consider trading him unless it was too good to be true.

Re: Trade Week and Draft 2011 - Who would you like to see at your club?

Compensation pick for Trengrove from Port. They don't really have a choice in their position.
Maybe Tuck and our 1st rounder for a higher 1st rounder with GWS. To maybe get Coniglio, if he even gets that far down to our pick.
Trade Morton for a 17 year old or a VFL player by doing a GWS trade.

you could trade your datsun for a f1 car while you are in dreamworld.

what kind of idiot thinks that pafc would have to accept a shit deal, because we basically have no choice?? if by your reasoning anytime a player was out of contract and wanted to go somewhere and it was that easy free agency would never have even been heard of it would be that unnecessary. yeah , stay in your dreamworld tool.

all those deals are laughable and you know little about football. i have to withhold myself from bagging richmond by reminding myself that other richmond supporters are probably rathered embaressed by you and dont deserve to be associated with you.

all i can say is. troll.
financial crisis to you too. i think you're just straight made cuz you're gonna lose quite a few players(half your list). i'd be laughing when you lose those players.
and you can stay in your own little dreamworld where you can dream about being debt free.

Ok, so now we know that delediofan3 cannot tolerate any criticism or contradiction.

lol at you, im not sure any of that could be called intelligible debate.

and pafc is fine thanks for your interest. will be even better when we are freed of all those constraints that were imposed on us before we even entered into the competition. the sanfl, which recieves $16 mill from both sa clubs is in financial trouble, are only linked to pafc by the afl gifting them the license. slowly we are being released from these constraints as politics plays out over time.

good for you are your freebies.

1- Don't think our compensation pick would be enough to get Trengove. Would Port accept our 1st rounder (anywhere from 10-16 I would think) + a player like Edwards?
2- Tuck to GWS for an upgrade of picks would be more like our pick 45 for GWS's pick 40.
3- Mitch Morton won't be going anywhere, the club will support him in the short to medium term...

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

I'd like to see us trade Thornton anywhere for a draft pick. He seems to be more or less out of favour at Carlton and he is still good enough to play AFL footy. I'd be happy to just get him wherever he wants to go/anywhere that will take him for a 4th rounder. Possibly the same the Setanta.

I also wouldn't mind see us trade for Acorn if he can solve his (apparent) work ethic problems. Kid has some of the greatest hands I've seen in a long time.

Other than that I'm pretty comfortable with where our list is at.

acorn apparently fixed his work ethic, but i dont think he will come into the lions side if retzlaff is doing as well as he is. may request a trade if not played.

Good to hear he has sorted himself out mentally. I've always thought he'd make a great 3rd tall at either end of the ground once he matures as a player.

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

I'd like the Eagles to look at a trade for Jamie Bennell from Melbourne.

Straight swap for Ash Smith?

Smith taken the pick after Bennell in the same draft, both players not yet cemented their spot in the best 22. Smith is a bigger, stronger running HBFer / winger.

Eagles are still looking for a small back pocket to tackle the nippy smalls, Bennell towelled up Jetta on the weekend.:thumbsu: Bennell can also go forward as a small which is something else the Eagles have been searching for.

Unsure if either player wants to return to their home states but the Eagles were keen on Jamie but missed out. May also help lure Harley to the Eagles in a couple of years.;)

Not a bad swap.

I remember WCE kicking themselves when Bennell was taken the pick before them.
