Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

Doubtful these days seems settled, Collingwood offered him to wce for pick 22 a couple of years ago.

He would be worth more now.

Think he would head back to WA if he was to leave Collingwood.

Hes pretty close to Buddy and some of the boys

Im sure he's close to his team mates too ;) Wouldn't think he'd swap clubs in Melbourne, if at all.

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

Anyone want any of these players
Tom Murphy
Xavier Ellis
Chance Batemen
Cameron Bruce
Brendan Whitecross

I would be keen on Xavier Ellis.

We have done well with recycled players lately giving them an opportunity so I am wondering if Hardwick rates him.

Can clearly play as he was a top 3 pick and had a ripping grand final in 08.

I would bring him in to play as a wingman and add some meat onto him as he is a stick insect.

Would Sharod Wellingham ever leave Collingwood? ;)

Wellingham was also offered to North Melbourne for an upgrade of pick 30 to pick 21. North was only willing to part exchange for pick 25.

Right now, he is one of our untouchable next tier brigade that includes Sidebottom and Beams. They have been fantastic for us as part of the next generation.

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

Wow. I'd love to have a 'ruck shortage' like Essendon does.

Daniel Stewart? You probably only need depth in those areas, and adding him would add a bit of depth to both of them. I'd do Stewart for Monfries.

You would, would you?

Why on earth would be trade Angus Monfries for Daniel Stewart?

It's laughable and I hope to god you were joking.

Would definately look at Pearce from Port.

Is this alright then?

Xavier Ellis + First Round Draft Pick to Richmond
First Round Draft Pick + Some fringe young player to Port Adelaide
Travis Boak to Hawthorn

Port Supporters make yourself any young Tiges interest you?

Ellis and first rounder to Port?

straight for Boak?

I would not mind offering pick 12 for Boak though, edit plus the extra it will take to get Boak obviously

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

how'd that work out for us in that final against Adelaide?:D The hamstring is best value in defence for us, don't want to see him anywhere near the rucking role, even as a second ruckmen.
You really can't work out that pinch-hitting, and getting thrown in there one-out, are vastly different things?
We had our first 3 rucks out. There's not much anyone can do.
If you think they'd stick an under-developed 19yo kid in there, or that that would work out better, I think you're wrong.
Or that we should carry someone like Pattinson on our list all year purely for that eventuality.

For list management sake, you need 5 ruckmen on the list, I have said this for years.
Before last year's draft, you didn't think we should take a mature ruckman.
You did think we should look at trading Bellchambers for a pick around 30.
Now you're telling me you wanted us to take 2 more ruckmen?

Really??

2 first choice ruckmen (Hille/Ryder) a developing ruck putting pressure on the first choice rucks(Bellchambers), a developing ruckmen who could play seniors if absolutely required if the first three were out injured(Joe Daniher, even though he is a forward before he is a ruckmen), and a raw, young developing ruckmen.
They would probably throw a KP pinch-hitter in before a beanpole "developing" ruck. As they've done before, as most clubs do.

Hawks always seem to get 1 or 2 re-tread, match-ready rucks and it never seems to get them anywhere. Their best side is, Bailey (or Hale) and, you guessed it, Roughead pinch-hitting.
I'm unsold.
Guys that are available, that cheap, aren't any good.

I completely agree, I was just throwing some names out for discussion points tbh. I am actually really happy with where our midfield group is at, obviously our KPP and ruck stocks (In my eyes) need bolstering, but apart from that, perhaps a small forward who can come off the rookie list in a couple of years when Davey (who is 28 this year) retires potentially.
Err, we did draft a small forward? He's played 2 games so far?

Like i said above, I completely agree, I am actually really impressed with where our group is at. Also above, perhaps some KPP's and ruck's wouldnt go astray, but apart from that, the renaissance of guys like Dyson, Davey, Stanton even and the continual improvement of guys like Zaka, jetta, Hibberd, Howlett, Crameri has seen me reassess where our list is really at.
Getting another ruck would have pushed Dyson off the list - he was the only one of those depth guys who was off contract. That ruck would not have played a game, Dyson's played some very good football.

Would we really have been better off?

We'll go into next year with 3 rucks + Daniher. It's not even a question in my eyes.

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

Would love a Key Position forward to work in tandem with Clokey.

Jarryd Roughead would be high on the list.

Not sure what the cost would be but im assuming pretty high. Gun forward.

Then there is the whole issue of the Salary Cap but.........

HF - Beams Cloke Sidebottom
F - Didak Roughead Krakouer

Delicious.

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

What compo pick?

We got one from you for Tambling.

We traded it to Gold Coast for pick 26 in last year's draft and Port's compensation pick that they got for Krakouer, which was traded to GC at some point.

So Nahas + 2nd round pick immediately after Port's 2nd pick.

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

ild like to trade a mid-range pick for a gun midfielder

trade tom jonas, darren pfeiffer, and our 3rd round pick for the best young key forward in the country

claim goddard/ trengove/ cloke in the psd with front loaded contracts

take tape, day and gorringe off gold coast. psd or late picks.

trade our 2nd round pick + fringe player for pick one in the mini-draft

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make

I would trade Sewell to Gold Coast along with either our second or third round Pick for there Number one Pick (providing ladder stays the same) so pretty much a top 3 pick. Choose some real class in the midfield someone like Stringer thats what i would like to see. Maybe palm off some of our list cloggers to other teams for picks. Players like Ellis, Murphy, Cheney just whatever we can get to try and have a mini rebuild at hawthorn so we are not screwed in a few years when a few of our classy midfielders get too old and reitre
