Not sure what some people were expecting, he's hardly going to come out and publicly trash players. Interesting that he said a small forward was probably top priority in terms of list management at present, i would've said midfield but maybe they're expecting the young guys to come on. Good that he said they don't want to keep going back to the same players and need to blood some more youth.

I'm seeing some signs that are concerning.

I don't believe a number of players bought in to the structural arrangements against EFC. There is always one or two who would prefer to be playing slightly different but give their all as directed. I believe more than usual felt they were set up to fail and could not bring themselves to fully buy in.

Intensity aside a few observers picked up how easy EFC found it to stretch our structure and find gaps continually and with relative ease. This has happened often on the expanses of the MCG, but watching it happen at Etihad was concerning to me. There is too much ground expected to be covered, it's too easily sliced open, particularly on the wider MCG and the players know or more importantly believe it's an issue themselves. Seeing it unfold at Etihad to a team that is nothing special should be a wake up call to the organisation and coach refusing to acknowledge or address it satisfactorily is not helping.

Added to the issues some have with being deliberately played out of their comfort zones because coach insists on being able to fill multiple roles, the poor decision regarding Cripps (not ready but a coaches effort at making a statement re needing multiple role fillers) and we appear to be at an important crunch point for this group. Coach has lost them a little at this point, despite general appearances otherwise.
I expect we'll see some finger pointing and rebound as all players have a level of pride but we have some real issues with coach ATM IMHO.

Its tempting to blame the coach and agree that he has said some strange things over the time but we have been putting in performances like that from this senior group prior to him. I said this earlier but he is not the common denominator for these performances and in the most part he has tried different things and tried a few players in different positions.

It does bother me that he mentioned the imbalanced response to the run on Essendon had by players going harder at the footy after picking an imbalanced side towards inside players but again he could feel MC lean towards a few players over others without consideration for balance. As others have said there seems to be a real "Mitch Brown to forward pocket" type issue with our team selection.

We had 76 contested possessions at 3 quarter time with a differential of -40. That is probably the softest performance we have had in a long, long time. If that doesn't result in some of the usual culprits being dropped then Simmo is having a laugh. There have been enough second chances given and time and time again these soft performances keep being delivered.

Funnily enough the likes of Duggan, Sheed and Mutimer had no problem going in hard which shows how much of a pathetic performance it was from our senior players or 'leaders' as Simmo calls them. Shuey taking his eye off the ball when that mouthbreather Daniher was coming at him and then fumbling which lead to a goal was a pissweak act and hopefully he was read the riot act for that as he is much better than that.

The away losses can't be blamed on Simmo, I have this idea that may help our guys...the problem is always not going in hard enough and sitting back waiting for some other player to go in hard...doesn't happen. The solution is not simple but its kind of a holiday situation were you go off on a plane land and you don't want to get injured or hurt, in our case its like the players don't even want to get dirty. I think the work needs to be done before we leave the airport and it would involve crawling through an SAS style course where you get filthy and get lots of cuts and scratches. Dirty up the legs and hands so this pretty boy, don't want to get hurt, sit back and let some other player get dirty attitude is reversed. Lets face it our guys are soft and have no mongrel at all.

Yet some on here are calling for him to be made captain after his performance. That was the epitome of hearing footsteps and shitting yourself.

Mutimer was tackled and slung out of bounds very forcefully and not one leader went to his defence ..

Our team motto is all for one and none for you all ..

This is what two of our senior players were doing while Tippa was destroying Masten.

Pridda like that bitch waitress who refuses to see you waving your hand for service.

Shard wondering if Eleni wants to go for a drink after the game.

Finally broken up by Large Fraser wandering over and politely asking Tippa to stop.

Our senior players are a joke and it only encourages opposition teams to get physical with us.

The worst part was watching the ball roll towards an Eagles player with a Bomber following it;The Eagles player wouldnt charge towards the ball he would wait till the Bomber picked up the ball.Too late she cried!! Or watching the ball tumbling in the middle of three Eagles and while they looked at each other going "you have it" "no no i insist you have it" " oh i couldnt possibly" a Bomber would stroll into the middle of them pick it up and they were off again.Appalling lack of courage!!

Blame the drafting policy of only drafting nice guys

But surely even a nice guy would stick up for their mates, these guys just aren't interested, they aren't a team. Explains why they don't do much of the 1%ers, shepherding, blocking etc.

Stays on the coach for allowing this to happen ,apparently this is his way to play favourites by letting the leaders influence him ..
Also Watch Petrie come in this week I would bet a million bucks on this ..

No you have it all wrong they have to be nice to the opposition
