Wow did not know that was the route this year. To be honest a lot of that route you are going to be very close to the players. Its not that wide.I have been to Melbourne before but can not remember the geography around the Parade route, for the Melbourne based Lions what would be the best place to get a good view of the players?
Yes I know there is some downside risk which is why I’m not that fussed. As I said, alternatively keep it as it is.NOOOOOOO!
Dev's pressure was immense around the ground, doesn't show up in stats, also runs his backside off at good pace.
Dev out and Lyons in would be a bad move for our defensive structure IMO.
I agree - they would be on the field for different reasons, performing different roles, but I’m not that fussed. I love what Dev brings to our side in terms of tackling and defensive pressure. He is one of the group of players endorsed by the Over 50’s Clique. I would be delighted to go in “unchanged” but would like to see Lyons get more than the last 5 minutes.3KZ respectfully, from one old poster to another, have another look at the game, the pressure Dev put on was immense. He was responsible for a significant number of turnovers. I agree we need him better with the footy in hand. Lyons can't apply that type of pressure.
Well I guess we have to try and go back to backI'm heart broken for Rich and Ashcroft and whoever misses out between Gardiner / Payne.
Tough for Ashcroft, but he knows he’s been out of contention for a while. In terms on Payne and Gardiner, if Payne isn’t 100% fit, he shouldn’t be considered, because Gardiner was AWESOME last night.I'm heart broken for Rich and Ashcroft and whoever misses out between Gardiner / Payne.
Yep, I was pleasantly surprised how good Gardiner was, even under extreme pressure in the 1st quarter, the Pies aren't particularly tall in the F50 so even if Payne is 100% the match committee have a tough decision to make.Tough for Ashcroft, but he knows he’s been out of contention for a while. I said this on another thread but Dev never looks for options when he kicks the ball in trafficNOOOOOOO!

So would you drop him for Lyons for the GF Doc?I said this on another thread but Dev never looks for options when he kicks the ball in traffic
He needs to mature as most juniors have the same problem and he has played multiple seasons
Merely laying tackles is not enough
Yep, closing my account on Monday, had Argentina and Penrith too, but stupidly accepted cash offers for themWas that the betr promo?
I know Dev's been around a little while now and played relatively few games . He has more time than he thinks in traffic and needs to take a leaf out of Neale's book. His immediate instinct is to just get rid of it anywhere . These instinctive traits are hard to shake but it's possible with some training and experience he can improve his disposal. So would you drop him for Lyons for the GF Doc?
Dev is a superb underrated role player for our side.
However when our squad is fully fit Dev more than likely goes out for Will Ashcroft as Will is very good defensively as well as what he offers offensively.

It's a significant downside for an inside mid but the other parts of his game are fine and he's still tracking to be a LT role player should he decide to stay.
Finally enough, I had Carlton because they were the best time left by the time I got around to doing the promoYep, closing my account on Monday, had Argentina and Penrith too, but stupidly accepted cash offers for them
The former Lion that Dev is similar to in regard to the bolded is Nick Robertson, I remember posting that exact thing about Nick, unfortunately Nick was never able to fix it, hopefully Dev can.I know Dev's been around a little while now and played relatively few games . We fly out of Brisbane at 6.05am Friday morning in time for the Parade at 10.30am, what time is the open captains run at the MCG bato?Grand Final Parade followed by the Captains Run at the MCG. Friday is set.
They haven’t announced the time yet but my guess would be around 3:30PM.We fly out of Brisbane at 6.05am Friday morning in time for the Parade at 10.30am, what time is the open captains run at the MCG bato?
Can't agree. Dev's pressure and running effort was excellent last night. Has to stay in as a starter.Based on last night’s game, I would go in unchanged, with just one slight modification, I’d swap Lyons for Robertson in the Sub role.
Play Lyons rotating through restarts in the middle and forward 50. Exactly how Fagan played him when we played Collingwood in Rd. 23.
Alternatively, keep Lyons as sub, but get him on sooner.
As far as Payne / Gardiner goes - I’d play Gardiner. He was fantastic last night and he would match up well with the Collingwood forward line.
