Anyone heard the Daniher retirement rumour going around? Sounds like bullshit to me but it's picking up some steam.
It comes from that mysterious announcement that BT has teased for after the granny that "is going to surprise everyone".

Going to be hard to replace next year. Hopefully goes out with a bang tomorrow if true.

So for those who don’t have tickets, does anyone know if they’re showing the match at the AFL footy festival site? It indicates this may happen on the AFL website, but timing says 12:00 - 3:00…
They should be. City of Melbourne is advertising it

Be part of the atmosphere and watch the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final live and free on the big screen at the Footy Festival in Yarra Park.
The Lawn by Bunnings will feature a big screen on Grand Final day so that you can watch the match on the doorstep of the MCG while enjoying signature dishes from some of Melbourne’s best pop-up restaurants including Easey's, Hella Good and Pinchy's.

I'm so nervous and haunted by our last two grand finals I don't even know if I want to watch the game. It is not that I think we won't or cant win, I think we can and will but just the anxiety of not knowing is getting me.

That sounds horrible. I'm haunted by Elixuh and that's bad enough.

Can we not start fuelling the Daniher thing.

Would make zero sense. He is setting himself up for life every year he plays and loves the relaxed nature of the club, two young kids.
I don't see it happening either. Also, why would it bring the footy world to tears? Us Lions fans? Sure maybe but the footy world in general? No way.

Anyone know what's going on here? Outside Gate 2 at the G.

MCC queue for walk up tickets. they keep 8000 for it. anyone with a full membership can get in, or visitor's pass. i went in 2018, arrived at about 7am, i think doors opened at 9am, got a cracking seat on level 1 and level 2 was still available. The old rule of thumb is - arrive before the first train gets in and you will get a good seat. but really wild years sees a lot of people camping out overnight
