Playing AFL is a big commitment when you're 30 with plenty of money and a great lifestyle. For some players.

Spoke to a journo, won't name them, who regularly covers AFL in Queensland. They've been told "it's crazy nonsense". That + no other media reporting it, leads me to believe it's BS.

I don't think It's any attempt to destabilise. If any of these guys have a big story they can't wait to get it out there before anyone else.

I doubt that it's total BS. But it could be part BS.

Just wanted to see if there was any weight to it, or if anyone knew any different. Relax.

The news is all suitably vague at this point. I wonder if it’s as simple as if we win he’ll probably go out on top; but if we lose he’ll see out his contract next year and go from there.

It’s been said by various players and staff that Joe actually took the GF loss harder than most; so it’s clearly important to him to win one.

doubt it's much of a distraction whether real or not.

If real - his team mates would probably known for a while.
If fake - he addresses it and they move on.

However, if joe has been sitting on it and not mentioned it to the club then yeah... not good timing for a leak. But I'd be surprised if that's the case.
