via Wells:

- Tuohy, Parfitt, Stanley all signed for 2021
- Esava will be at Geelong next year, high hopes for him
- De Koning likely to get senior opportunities next year
- Have offered Henderson a contract, he is keen to play on
- Have told Narkle we want to offer him a contract but depends on TPP, list sizes which are unknown

Narkle contract will be contingent on Constable being moved on I imagine.

Maybe not just Constable, but also Steven - will he decide to retire & paid out by mutual agreement

And maybe if Higgins comes or if there's a surprise change - so they'd like to keep him, but being the one out of contract may mean he's the unlucky fall guy with changes to list sizes

Wells " well do what we can within reason"

GWS were looking to be better compensated than FA pick 10 - we have the assets at our disposal to make that happen with in reason.

WE have had dialogue but its very early in the process.

Wells is giving nothing lol

We have outside run but Smith adds a differnet and unique version of outside run that we dont have.

WE need to get better all over the ground - we have good youth coming thru.

Its hard to contend and develop at the same time and coaches have done a great job keeping us up and developing at the same time.

The Tigers just did it better for longer in the GF.

Tigers scored 10 of the last 12 goals - shows they were better in the 2nd 1/2 and we need to get better everywhere.

Higgins - Pick 37 was discussed - its up to North if thats enough. We didnt pursue it but we'd like him. We are trying to do a deal.

Jordan Clark - Lots of outside the club speculation - Had a great startm got hurt and worked back but then popped his shoulder. If hed been unhurt - he'd have held his post. We are comitted to each other and expect him to be around for several years. CLark was disappointed he didnt play more and the conversations were abou t he future - but hes happy here.

Cooper Stevens and SDK. Really pleased they coped with Hub life and the development of them thru the year.

Ciooper did some MF and defence. Great runner and safe sure ball handler. Had to crack in this year but will next year.
SDK - he had to do some ruck and KPF and KPD - very versatile and pleased the coaches ALOT. Will get chances.

SOS is all over SDK he said jokingly.

Cocky - OOC and has been offered a GC contract. Wants the Lions - but not done yet. Whenever he's played hes been a difference maker - if he gets his rig right he makes a difference.

Stanley - recontracted this year not sure how long.

2E - 2 year deal signed this year and is staying

Parfitt - signed 2 year deal this year and is staying.

Narkle - OOC but waiting on TPP and list sizes.

Sav Rat - Didnt have the best hub life and needs to get back tp his beest for GFC next year which he will.

Hendo - loved hub life and hes been offered a deal and he wants to be with us so will be back.

With the Covid cuts on staffing - GFC has a small team. Tsel and Woodland worked on draftees. Mackie is doing scouting and contracts. All will be retained for 2021.

RE the list sizes - very hard to do it with a moving target. Very strange situation but everyone is on the same boat. Hard for younger players like Narkle who cant get a deal yet as we wait for AFL to decide.

AFL have not even given a floor as to what it could be. Its an ongoing situation but there is no clarity.

Jack Steven - its a bit sensitive. Sad its out in the public. Its hard to be an AFL player. Jack is considering his options and if he wants to be an AFL player he'll be at GFC. But its a hard situation that need to be sorted out privately.

Wells giving NOTHING away regarding JC and picks and players.

Wells is a class act and gives NOTHING away but gives some info when he can.

Wells not giving much away.

Happy to hear that the Jordan Clark stuff seems to have been ironed out.

Interesting to hear that Touhy has been given two years. Probably deserves it.

Club seems super chuffed on De Koning.

Clark going nowhere according to Wells.

I thought his reaction and comments were interesting.

They suggested that Clark had been unhappy about a lack of game time, then he sat down with the coaches 'to see what the future looks like'and has consequently decided to stay and try and force his way back into the seniors.

Suggested to me that the rumour of some discontent on Clark's part had, in the early days anyway, some truth about it.

Glad he's staying either way.

Wells on trade radio:
- we are talking to giants..wouldnt elaborate on whether they want picks or players.
-we will try and trade for cameron 'within reason'..words get the giants a 'deal a bit better than FA compo' but within reason were used
-stanley signed earlier in the year not announced
-cockatoo wants brisbane but we are happy to keep him if a deal cant be done
-parfitt and tuohy have both signed for 2 years
-he sees clark as best 22 sounds like clark was frustrated re lack of gametime but wants to stay..unlikely he goes anywhere.
-hendo has been offered a new deal waiting for an answer but sounds like he wont retire
-wont be offering narkle a new deal until we know list sizes
-bullish on stephens and sdk
-upset that jack steven stuff was in the media wants that stuff talked in private..said basically if jack wants to retire we'll sort through it but if he wants to play on we will keep
-higgins wants to come sounds like he initiated it not us..talking to NM re deal
-fogarty and CC and fort and jenkins etc werent asked about
-sav hasnt asked for a trade expects him to stay
-said no word from afl re list sizes and TPP.
-says we need to improve all over the ground..no word about other trade targets.

According to wells narkle seems to be the one that could be traded out. He was definitive on Parfitt, esava , Clarke in terms of them staying. Seems Steven didn’t do what was needed to be an AFL footballer in hub life. Found it difficult. Steven and narkle out I think. Cameron deal protracted one. Wells said it’s early in the piece with Cameron deal.... well not really...

He never has put information about trade negotiations to the public. Shows respect to whoever we deal with. Got no problem with that.

Im still not sold on Clark staying, i know Wells said he is but a part of me still thinks he is gettable for Freo especially if we have to give up 1st rounders for JC. Will expect a 1st rounder for Clark

Mentioned no word re afl re list sizes and it affects players like narkle (because he is uncontracted and others arent).

Great summary Daz....just what was needed.

I expect Menegola to be traded.
Why wouldn't we hold him to his contract? Unlikely to get much more capital for him now vs next year and having a player on below market wage is valuable when you're competing. Doesn't seem dissimilar to the contracted Kelly situation to me
