When you say Chaplin, please tell me that’s not Troy?

i think that’s the scuttlebutt going round.
Obviously would love yze, pike, Caracalla or Kingsley but Chaplin is the only one I have heard linked to us. By all reports he is very highly rated. Have you heard otherwise?

Doesnt that depend on the package. I know Scarlett get a bad wrap..but I could imagine a situation where talent is second to attitude.

Not entertained by who ..us? Them?

Maybe they think it will mess up Clarks trade value. Freo are not flushed with young rucks, especially if they trade out Lobb. I can imagine them coming hard at WA rucks in Victoria too.
I cant imagine theyd even entertain a Meek trade any time soon, short on Ruck depth and Darcy is hardly durable, not to mention they need the flexibility to swing Darcy forward with how inept their forward stocks are currently.

I agree. I listened to Ess say there is as good a talent group as there has ever been btw 5-25 and with no football in the east there is going to be some bargains in the Vic crew. Bloody GWS and Ess scuttled a cleverly thought out plan.

Imagine if they both finished were many predicted pre season. We could have been sitting on 19, 23, 27, 34 & 41.

Would have been nice!

Ceglar only being considered if Fort goes which is unlikely apparently. More likely to get senior opportunities at the Cats than in Brisbane unless they play him as a key forward in Hipwood’s absence in the first half of next year, which would be unlikely.

Fort would split ruck and forward 50/50 with omac while hipwood is out.

Cats very keen on Lloyd Meek apparently. Unlikely to come this year with his contract status but will be monitored over the next year or so.

Honestly he should have left he will never be no1 ruck with darcy there.

We said that 5 pages ago but people continued to talk about it lol.

Understand an open forum is really a free for all but surely wed be better off discussing players we are actually a realistic chance of getting.

I was incredibly guilty in this regard and send my apolgies (just wanted a mosquito fleet)

Might have a similar mindset to Braydon Preuss. One that no one still understands🤷‍♂️

I know I'm late on this, but guessing we didn't get a phone call due to lack of early picks

If this is true book Mitchell in for a wooden spoon.
I wonder what we would do in this instance...To knock back an offer like Adelaide made to North. Imagin two years down the track when he is uncontracted and the Crows come at him. I doubt they get a P4, and two Fr1...potentially a pick 5 pick and P20..

https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/...k/news-story/f32e2d3f16b35a4ec5291c0ae554dced

The Crows tried to deal the fourth selection in this year’s draft, as well as two 2022 first-rounders – its own and Melbourne’s – for the top choice with a view to taking the South Adelaide star, only for the Kangaroos to knock it back.
I feel like Norf are making a mistake here. They would want to be confident that Horne-Francis is in it for the long haul and is bonefied superstar. 3 R1 picks over 2 years could go a long way in their rebuild

On the flip side Adelaide probably dodged bullet as I don’t think they aren’t as far along in their rebuild as they think they are and they will still need to nab some talent from those future R1 picks.

McInerney looked stuffed late in the year and Fullarton is next to useless at his current stage of development, Fort is a good fit for them and would play majority of games next year for mine

They can't afford anyone else ...

Fort or bust...

He’s a very ordinary bloke. Let’s leave it at that.

It's an insane offer.
Can't remember anything that substantial.

Trying to work out if it would be worth the risk of letting the clear no.1 (daicos aside) go to adelaide and risk watching him become a danger/fyfe/bont type.

At 4 (moves to 6) they would likely miss on JHF, Daicos, Darcy, Fin Callaghan. Then it evens out, Hawthorn maybe take Ward.
So they take someone like Erasmus or Rachele, take a big punt on Mac Andrew?

Then next year I'd have north finishing bottom 3. Adelaide bottom 6? Dees top 4 seems a lock.
So they would have Pick 1-3, 3 - 6 and something like 16 - 18.
The deal had them giving back their F2 so in this scenario 19 - 22.

That's a huge deal to turn down. Maybe just too much for them to get their heads around?
Would be tough being the team watch JHF tear it up if you missed on pick 6.

Well if he turns up with Clark's attitude to his footy... Yes he would.
Clark is the most over rated player since the two Josh's... in Caddy & Cowan for me... lol

Clark will turn out to be a star player. His running goals from the wing will be eerily similar to Isaac Smith.
Shame he is likely gone.

Meek for Clark end 2022. ;)

Be a nice trade. Be interesting to see this time next year whether we are on the other side of trading a contracted player with Freo.

Is Meek the only ruck backup .?

Can the big kahuna ruck at all.?

Lobb prob gone can't and won't ruck even if he stays.

That 3rd round pick next year suits Brisbane Lions as they have 2 F/S (Ashcroft/Fletcher) and 1 or 2 Academy kids to cater for.
Along with Darcy Fort that future 3rd might be able to move into the #18 spot? Or #14 wishful thinking ??
Interesting times ahead in what we do from what we get from the Clark deal.
We could do 22 ,geelong2022r3, Carlton2022r3
For 14, brisbane2022r4.
That might be overs, Brisbane may not do anyway if they think the pick14 player is capable of helping them in 2022 where's the pick22 player wont.
