Here's 2024 Provisional AFL Draft Order

Cheers to Lore for their hard work in setting this up, and making it available for all users on BF to use and keep track of the picks ahead of the upcoming draft - and please practice patience grasshoppers if it's not updated in the immediate aftermath of completed trade

I'll also sticky this post to ensure it's easily accessible for discussion of our hypothetical trader

Also,

2024 Draft and Trade Period Key Dates

Oct 17 to Nov 8: Pick swap window
Nov 1 to Nov 8: Delisted free agency period
Nov 20-21: Telstra AFL Draft
Nov 22: Telstra Pre-Season Draft and Rookie Draft

Agreed. But Richmond has come off three flags and is doing very well off-field. At the same period, Geelong had come off three flag losses, or four in 10 years, and was in a precarious financial quandry.

In the late '90s Geelong was an absolute basket case. It was realistically plausible that the club would either merge with Footscray, or at the very least, play its home games at the new Docklands Stadium.

Alas, I see many, many years of struggle at Tigerland. I believe it will be a long time before the yellow and black army will be emphasising that component of their theme song post-match on a regularly basis.
Yeah, that I agree with - but our issue was financial. Our playing list was only ordinary, with a little bit of promise, not stuffed.

Not saying Cadmans bad, just wondering if he is legit worth two first round draft picks.
As a young, former number 1 pick, his currency will be 2+ first rounders for a few years regardless of his output. But the fact his output has been pretty good so far means it'd be a certainty.

But then not all first rounders are equal. There's a much bigger difference between pick 1 and pick 15 than there is between pick 20 and pick 35

This is such flawed thinking.

Where a player was drafted 7 years ago should have absolutely no relevance to what his current value is.

At 25 years of age and with 140 games under his belt, his value should only be judged on his output to date and any potential to improve.

Maybe the media are dumb enough to push the narrative that draft position is important, but surely the people who run list management at afl clubs are smarter than that.

We surely must have another back up ruck lined up… surely…

I don’t watch football besides Geelong games but crossley did seem a good character on the channel 7 interview during the vfl semi.

Why?

We haven't lost a ruck from last year, Conway and Edwards are 12 months older and stronger and we found out SDK can play ruck.

We look much more set for rucks this year than last.

Yeah, but of that, Stanley, Conway, Blicavs and SDK are all ahead of him.
Stanley is cooked, Conway is always injured, Blicavs isnt a ruck and is on the verge of being cooked and SDK has played like 3 games in the ruck, yep future is bright 🤣
