
I think the poster had a decent point, that if Clohesy were to push himself into the starting 22, it would be Close whose position would be least secure.Close is an integral part of our gameplan, he provides great link up play up the ground. Has great chemistry with the other forwards and contributes goals and assists.
No chance I would let him go, team chemistry is so important it’s much harder to throw someone in and expect them to gell. Every team has a few stars but flags are won when you have players like Close playing a role for the team that helps others shine.
IMO, if I had to pick one of Miers, Stengle, Mannagh and Close to leave out, it's Close. Whether Clohesy can actually manage this is the other question.
