Unless we know he won't be there at pick 10. Ogilvie has been quite astute at knowing who everyone else will be picking in the top 20.
FFS can we stop talking about Fogarty like he's the second coming
The whole point of having 2 first next year is because the SA talent and talent in general is stacked next year.
It would be really stupid to be giving that up.

I know. Carlton have shown interest in Fogarty. Can you see the potential humour or misery in them drafting him at 10 though

so if it is pick 16 this year and melbourne's 2018 future 1st round pick next year and we get back Carltons 2018 2nd round pick, that is not too bad
Surely if we didn't think he was worth 2x firsts last year then he's not worth it this year? Admittedly we have more of them to throw around this year, but if we're giving up 10 or either of next year's firsts then I won't be happy with it. 16 plus next year's second or 18 from Cameron (if Cameron even ends up getting traded) I'd settle for.

I don't understand why they are willing to give up 2 first rounders now and not 12 months ago.
The talk is a first this year and a second next year ... let's see what is done before we shoot anyone.
If it was this year's first and a swap of our first for their second next year - that is not a huge drop. We are probably hoping to bundle our picks next year and see if we can nail Rankine. Having pick 17 instead of pick 20 won't change that much.

Most of the current phantom drafts have him around the mark.
But if we have 2 1sts (and possibly another one if Sloane goes and we get a 1st as compensation), there is the possibility of packaging those up to trade our way higher into the draft. Not to mention the possibility that we and/or Melbourne sh*t the bed next year...
I think it's been said a few thousand times. We have many more first rounders now than then.
