Not this year, but yes, I expect more than a simple price freeze, I think at the very least Chips will decrease in price. He wouldn't have made such a song and dance of it at his first press conference had he not been confident of achieving this.

I think you are dreaming if anything will actually go down in real prices.

Victoria should not compete in SOO unless it is split into country and metro. Too many players for 1 team and making it a closer game will make for better viewing. I bet most Vic's would love to see a Vic derby and wa v sa will be a close match. Qld v nsw/act and NT/internationals v tas

Vic Metro - MCG
Vic Country - Simonds Stadium ?

Probably. All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake up in the day to find it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.

I want cheaper chips.

Sorry ..... but guess I'm not one of 'most Vics'.

Have zero interest in Vic Metro vs Country.

Only game that would hold interest would be Vic vs SA or Vic vs WA.

The rest is fluff !

Bit annoyed that the AFL continue to drop Tasmania and I don't understand why the AFL will not bring in a Tasmanian team. They could pretty much have two Kardinia Parks setup down there with what they have. They will find sponsors. They will have fans. Would be great for Tasmania and its tourism as well no doubt. Shouldn't be a relocation either.

They could then focus on Victorian teams hosting extra games in Sydney to promote the game more.

Oops sorry, yes expecting a Tasmanian Team. :)

shit idea.

We want to beat the other states. Not Vic Country.

It would be like having the Americans compete as two separate teams in the Olympics.

Surely the only victor at the end of his tenure can be Rompingwins?

On a serious note, it's a tough gig to keep the supporters, footy clubs, grounds and corporates all happy.
Just ask Jackson or Vlad!

To appoint his favourite player, the Jumbo Prince, as a special ambassador having a good time at the footy, after the negative dross associated with the farewell Andy D season so far.

Very little will change, I'd assume.
- Day Grand Final (I like this. Don't object to a change but I love it the way it is).
- No Good Friday Footy - could go either way but if the status quo's being maintained, perhaps it won't come in.
- If his term's a long one, Tassie will come in once GC and GWS are consolidated - through merger, expansion or other means.
- He'll be ridiculously overpaid.
- The Bulldogs will continue to get very little TV time at either end of the ladder, surviving on a drip feed of handouts and no means to claw our way out.

If anything he seems a little more conservative than Demetriou. I think that works in the competition's favour, in the short term.
No more expansion , but someone will go to Tassie.

Won't happen. North Melbourne are probably the likeliest but the members won't allow it under any administration and I can see a relocated Melbourne team being rejected by the Tassie fanbase.
Likeliest scenario if any for me is the merging of two Victorian clubs and the introduction of Tassie's own team provided they can get over the North-South divide, but again, won't happen. Consolidation is the key at this stage.

I expect him to be very similar to Demetriou.

I would like to see an 18 game season but don't think it will happen just yet.

Have to say that the game has a number of challenges as follows;

Too many Melbourne teams seem to be like McDonalds franchises now. They play at the same home ground (MCG or Etihad) with sterile training facilities far from where they originated. There is now less emotional pull for their supporters.

Rules have been sanitized but so has the game. This has made it a far more benign game to watch. It has become boring compared to its original form. People are tuning out and have had enough of the politically correct nonsense that the AFL pumps out.

I actually think that ticket prices are fair and if you want to eat food at a game why don't we all pack lunches until the prices are reduced?

On another note Demetriou seems to be jumping ship very quickly. I would too if I could see the titanic going down. I guess he has squeezed as many dollars as he could out of the AFL but there are tough years ahead for the game.

Does anyone really think a shorter season is going to happen?

They need to make money. Reducing the number of games will make less money. But you also want cheaper pricing for food and tickets?

AFL is a business, not a charity. That's something everyone needs to accept. Stop hoping for things that run counter to them trying to turn the game into a moneymaking buzzsaw.

Expectations? He'll come in, stabilize but not decrease the cost of attending a game, get a nice broadcast package, and just steward the game along for 8 years. Things will be marginally better when he leaves, but not greatly so. We'll see a night Grand Final and Good Friday games, because guaranteed that will be a sticking point in the broadcast negotiations. TV knows what kind of viewership it could pull with a night GF. He'll increase international visibility of the league. He won't put an expansion team in Tasmania or New Zealand, but could push for another Melbourne team to move to Tasmania or Canberra.

And in 8 years, we'll sit here wishing for the same changes to be made again.

Jumped ship or was he shoved off the deck?
The handling of the drug saga - or should I say "bungling" - was the end for Andrew.
When such a big organisation lacks an ounce of integrity, it is always going to be hard for the boss to keep his job.
