Ahh, watching this just got worth it.

God bless the marketing team at Bonds. You should all be knighted for the service you bring.

This is stuffed, they've turned it into one catastrophic staged circus show.

Reading about people who have went to the tapings (as fans of the old series), when they walked away disappointed... it left me with little hope that this new reinvention would at least match the original.

Seeing how chopped and edited it is, is really lame.

So true!

I don't know what is more lame - the show, the hosts or the crowd!

They had the crowd 'interact' before the taping officially started. All of the clapping and cheering you hear is 'staged' to the point of boredom.

What happens is they get told to clap for a certain amount of time, cheer/yell/scream for a certain amount of time, then wave around pre made signs (provided by 7's production staff).

When they're filming the show, the audience is relatively motionless and sit watching the action.

When you see the finished product on tv, it is a messy mesh of pre taping 'cues' from producers and the action you're watching between the gladiators and challengers.

I know the interviews between the gladiators and challengers is staged with badly written scripts (as they do multiple takes of the same thing).

Another thing i havn't had confirmed by more than a few people is that the show is staged from the get go is that the action itself is scripted. What they do is, they'll film the game in one go.... but if the 'conclusion' isn't to their liking, they'll film it again... even to the point of changing the finish to the match - to get a better camera angle of it etc (making it sound like wrestling... but essentially what i understand is that the show is just as scripted).

That doesn't surprise me at all. It is fairly obvious too - typical 7

I'm fairly sure that re-takes happened on the (recent) American version also.
