Graham Cornes on the Edwards - McLeod feud

I'm not one that subscribes to the theory that this is all Rachael's fault.

I've tried to read between the lines in the past and work out what beef McLeods have with Hewitts, and on this case I think its the Hewitts (at least the male one) that may have a lot to do with this ... especially if he was partly responsible for the McLeods seperation..... if Racheal thought thisd to be the case there would be little wonder she would resent anyone that sided with Sa's tennis brat.

I'm not sure what makes me feel more nauseas....
  • The Feud
  • The naivity that suggests that it is fracturing the club when football clubs at all levels have always been an environment for altercation based on sexual, philosophical, or egotistical grounds.
  • The banal commentary from such icons of philanthropy as Mr and Mrs Cornes.
  • or the recent self appointment of the thread starter as the moral highground police chief whose newly adopted crusade appears to be the ideological disection of the Adelaide Football Club.

....maybe I'll start a poll......

Of course the AFC is influenced by the actions of their wives - isn't this the reason why Nicole Cornes is not at AFC functions such as the B&F Yellow Jacket award - because she supports her son's football club and not her husband's.

Again the question needs to be asked why has this been allowed to fester for two years. It's all very well some people here trying to pretend that this is quarantined to just the two wives but read the media reports and the relevant threads on the Crows board and clearly the ripples spread through the wives and girlfriends and the playing group.
Yes, massive ripples. After benig tipped to get the spoon last year, the team has seriously underperformed in the last two years. Obviously in such a pleasant atmosphere that exists at Port, nobody would want to leave there would they... so why do they?

We don’t discriminate with who is invited and who is not invited. Erin Phillips was invited as guest of Ivan Maric.

Come up with some evidence where it says that Mr. Graham Cornes is invited but Mrs. Nicole Cornes is not.

I think that's a fair enough assessment, although in that case Rachael still needs to do a lot of growing up - making primary school hand gestures at a person who happens to be a friend of the brat in question is not a reasonable and adult response to the situation.

As for the brat - oh yes, I can think of better people for a grown man to be living with while dealing with a separation from his wife, thank God Macca saw the light and didn't lose his marriage in a plethora of Playstations, Ferraris and cancelled engagements followed by marriage to another person within months. :)

And PS if it is true that Macca was invited to the wedding but not his wife, then full marks to Macca for not attending and that says more about the class of the Hewitt family than anyone else.

The thing I read from the Cornes article is that even if you look at it from both sides, then Rachel McLeod comes off as a nasty piece of work.

Either she made the 'L' symbol to Tyson Edwards (real smart move there, what'd she do, ask her kids to show her how to do something other than rabbit ears?), and she's just completely childish, or after Mandy Edwards said "get a life" (not a smart thing to say), she retorted with "stop trying to steal mine" and is childish and bitter.

And then there's Llittle Lleyton. If only he'd stayed with Aussie Kim, none of this would've happened. Never liked him anyway...

OK picture a club where there has been some infighting amongst the players wives and some of the players are not on the best of terms. The rest of the playing group is aware of the situation and naturally have opinions either way. Over a two year period little bits of gossip about the situation appear in the media but the club denies there's a problem. The coach at one point feels the need to borrow a car to visit one of the players incognito to reassure him the club bears him no ill will and has taken an impartial stance.

Now the club is in a vital finals match and is well in control at half time leading by four goals in a low scoring match in front of their own supporters. The Chairman has said that anything less than a flag woud be a failure. They've had the benefit of a weeks rest but the opposition comes out after half time and takes the game by the scruff of the neck and only poor kicking for goal prevents them winning by an embarrassing margin. The team is accused of choking and it's fans are in uproar after the game.

Any connection between these two things? ;)
I found the missing link

Think now too many people are putting in their two bobs worth and it is spreading like cancer, I think the AFC Andrew and Tyson are professional enough to sort this out themselves, it is clear though Rachael Mcleod is the problem.

I intentionally left out the word "invited" in my original post until I located the article (I believe in was in last Monday's Advertiser) - when I find it I will post.

Have we been told which wife put her hubby's contract in the other players' letter boxes and flogged his medals at Cash Converters yet? Did she get her man back? :D

Sounds like something to do with Tony McGuiness.

I feel sorry for their husbands it must be very embarrassing.

LOL, you can imagine the car ride home

"That bitch, how dare she do that, I'll teach her. Next time I'll really yell and punch her head in"

"Honey, it's work function, how about just leaving it alone. It's making my situation tough at work, we don't need this kind of scene or pressure"

"Boo ****ing hoo, it's all about you, isn't it? I don't give a **** who I annoy at your work, as long as I get her back!"

That's how I'd imagine it. I feel sorry for the both of them, as it's a no win situtation, they have to back their wives first and foremost.

Nicole Cornes is not the mother of Chad & Kane but that's a different story.
