Yeah, they should have sacked him after they lost the Prelim final in Adelaide by a kick to the eventual premiersRory said:It has come two years too late.

To all those people who think the Saints will suddenly improve next year under a new coach, consider this : what if whoever they employ is worse than Thomas ? e.g people are saying that Pagan is no good and that he's past it. If that's the case then why would he suddenly be appropriate for the Saints ?

Are you concerned with the attitude of Eddie and the Collingwood board regarding Malthouse's tenure at the club.
I mean I've just read Len Thompson's autobiography (published back in 1999) and from what I understand, in years gone by, Malthouse's performance as coach in the last 3 years would have been deemed unacceptable by Collingwood.
You could argue that Collingwood have improved this year then the last two years, but for an club that looked okay for an top 4 position by rnd 16/17, to fall away badly in the finals against the 8th ranked team would be unacceptable. Surely Eddie has to consider that the Pies won't improve much if they keep Malthouse for an couple more seasons.

Wally Matera said:Best news l've heard all season... without a doubt. It was a blight on every other coach in the league (bar Clarkson) that he was in the same position as them.
If they now go and get McGuane, then they are only heading in the same direction as their last 50 years. Down the pub to drink and get smashed. 15 clubs hope that this is the new 'direction' they go.
Pagan would be crazy not to jump ship... he's clock is ticking at Optus Oval.
Me thinks Longmire is a certainty.

They already have one, and the second might be gone before they have a pick in the draft.Murray said:One can only hope so
They already have one.doofdoof said:If the new coach is a disciplinarian who does not want to hang out in the spa with them drinking beer, is there going to be a revolt?
