Agree that Jones is a loss, but it's probably an advantage not having Penny in the team - very average player. Jury's still out on Maguire. :)

You can really tell when aus isn't there, the other player i really noticed wasn't there was powell surprisingly. Penny is very underated as a player, but even if you don't rate him, Him missing left Max as our best defender...hhmm..as much as i love maxie that made me very nervous indeed!!! You haven't watched Maguire play have you? He's a excellent tough player, but i agree he needs to do it for a whole season (damn injury!!).

I wouldn't waste time trying to debate football with this nong.

He doesn't watch football. He reads about it on TBV and in the paper.

According to parrot, Carlton have a better backline than the Saints, better ruck division, better full forward, more talented youngsters, . . . the list goes on.

parrot = BF's worst troll

(he is just a parrot after all)

Wierd interpretation of events.

Considering I was at the game and could see what was going on, only sensible intrepretation of event that could possibly be made by anyone who knows anything of football, .....

You're all over the place as per usual in terms of logic, but I admire your enthusiasm. The big challenge for GT is can he restructure his team to fix their backline and ruck problems while still maintaining their forwardline and midfield strength. Didn't see much new last night. Same old problems resurfacing. :)

It was a good game, the bits I was able to watch. It was a proper pre-season match, with young kids given a go they might not get later. And it gives teams that have had a bad previous year a chance to bounce back.
The Saints looked good, but we know that about them anyway. The Hawks played with heart and class.

Give you a hint narthola_04, squawk doesn't watch much football at all. His sole job on BF is to mindlessly chant an incantation about our ruck and backline, and thinks that our finals thrashing has relevance and context to everything he mind numbingly dribbles out over and over and over....

A good example, in this thread he goes on about our backline deficiencies, and then when it is pointed out that the Hawks were held goalless he craps on about scoring opportunities, ignoring the fact that the Saints had more in the last quarter.

Parrot is a good name for this Carlton lemming. Believes that the GOP Walker is going to be a superstar ( ) and Carlton are going to make the eight :D .
Also believes that yesterdays man Pagan is still a good coach when it is a fact that he has lost it. (eg putting Fevola on Gehrig against the Saints last season, putting fatboy whitnall on riewoldt the season before, and guiding Carlton to their most amount of 100 point losses in their history.)

When this is pointed out squawk will either want to talk about a game his team wasn't involved in, or recant the usual lemming chant about last centurys glory.

Still it is fun to show up his and cyphers and the others total lack of footballing knowledge and laugh at them, jst as we laugh at Carltons football team and their continuing 100 point hiding under supercoach hasbben Pagan.

I agree in that Maguire may turn out to be a vauable player. I guess we'll find out by season's end. I'm just not convinced re. Baker/Maxie/Penny, seem to have limited ability, but I admit my opinions are based on their poor performance in the latter part of the season. Saint's are badly lacking a quality FB at present. Suspect GT may push Hamill down back a bit more this year. Interesting to see how things pan out. :)

Yes i was starting to realise this after reading but it's his/her opinion of which they are very entitled, However I take the theory of "just smile and nod". This place would probably be a lot "better" (some love the tolling nature of bf!) if people didn't take it all so seriously

I agree the tackilng and desperation for the ball by the Hawks was outstanding ..the class of the saints side got them home in the end, it was a great game to watch..if the blues dons game is as good then i'll be happy :)

Explain why my logic is all over the place?

You have no idea have you. You just troll away because you cant come up with a rebuttal to the facts.

1) Saint won the clearances and Ackland shaded Everitt in the ruck. Fioras nine point goal was a direct result of ruckwork

2) Hawks scored 66 point against our second stringers and wwas held goalless in the last quarter.

Just explain those to little pieces of fact son?

But like cypher when given a direct question you wont answer because you cant.

You are an embarrassment to real Carlton fans like ODN and Thrawn.

Going to the game today? Or watching on TV?

All credit to the Hawks they fought the game out right to the very end. But the Saints were just to good.

I was so happy with how we played! In particular Dixon and Barker, if they fire like last night, we will NOT finish bottom!

Lekkas looked interested and played well, Sammy was everywhere, Chance continues to improve, my man Mark Williams is a gun, Croad beat Reiwoldt, but the umpire helped Reiwoldt. Some good signs for us....

By the way, was disgusted with Reiwoldt. The bump on Thurgood was fair, but how he picked him up was a discrace! He wasnt meaning that in good gesture, he had a real mad look on his face. Just lowered my estimation of him now. Poor kid was kocked out and Reiwoldt the hero chucks him round like a rag doll, discraceful!

Got it in one narthola_04. Never take the like of Parrot, or anyone else here for that matter seriously. Its all fun. Especially seeing Carlton attempt to play football :)

Croad always does a very very good job of riewoldt, probably one of the better match ups on him!

btw did you watch it on tv or at the ground, coz at the ground i thought the same about roo and thurgood, but on tv he didn't mean any harm by it, he tried to put the kid on his feet but unfortunaly he would have rather be left where he was! however i guess it's interpretation. I saw it as the kid was really hurt and couldn't get his feet, riewoldt didn't throw him around at all

I was sitting right next to it, and Roo looked ********ed! Real shame for Joshy, was doing well up till then...

What a load of crap, next thing your going to tell us he threw a few more into him as well, he tried to help the mung bean to his feet to me that sounds like sportsmanship, I suppose Sammy was trying to do Balls hair????

It was tough when the hawks belted the bummer that was injured last year and going off the ground but to help a pathetic skinny loser to his feet is bad sportsmanship, go get your hair done!

I was sitting right next to it, and it wasnt good gesture at all. Get ya hand off it saints fans, jesus christ! He literally took him off his feet, the kid was jelly. Like i said, i didnt have a problem with the bump, but he shouldve just left him there. The kids skinny as, but at least he has courage....

He was doing what he thought was the right thing, putting him back on his feet, but he probably didn't realise how hurt the kid was, probably would have been better judgement just to leave the kid on the ground incase he was really hurt..I think like us, you need to put a little perspective into it.

You have n.....

I’ll try not to get you too angry and bitter, but trying to use logic to explain to an illogical person why they’re illogical is sort of futile. Best you keep believing what you write and be happy. I'm sure JD will concur :)

Hey parrot, why the smamrmy arrogance are you now barracking for the Hawks? Are you one of THOSE losers that go for two teams the blues and whoever is playing the Saints. To me it looks like your rolling in desperation, the Hawks look good so maybe pagans piddlers can be good too.

If your so interested in judging the poos against the Saaints lets just put an honest 50 up right now for our first meeting. Obviously we're crap so yuor in with a chance, and you have Walker. now that Waynes riding shotgun over your players girlfriends we are really not even in the same league go on it's only fifty bucks

A quality intellect. Related to JD or JB by any chance? :)

Mocking me now hmmmm, let me see I think I spelt it out easily enough, your a Blues supporter, overly fond of the Hawks or just trying to troll. Seems to me you are the intellectually challenged one here.

You purport that from last nights efforts that the Saints have a crap defence, pathetic ruck division and are generally crud. I think that I offered you a wager based on your opinion because obviously you think your team is better, and lets see with our defficiencies if your to scared to take my wager what does that actually say about your side?

I think it's sad that your spending all your energy hoping other teams win in the knowledge your team can't.

I think that I must have insulted you with my meager wager, lets make it one hundred Australian dollars, no points in just a simple your team wins you get the cash. Surely you have to believe that either you are a certainty to win or else everything you've posted is crap, whats it gonna be poo boy?

The perspective is that when he let go of Thurgood and saw him falling down like a sack of potatoes he just turned his back and walked away. Maybe Reivoldt should go on a first aid course (heck all players should do it) and learn that if someone is lying prone on the ground you do not move them unless it is absolutely necessary or you have ascertained it is right to do so.

What did you expect him to do get down and rub the kids belly for him, hold his hand?? He did what he thought was the right thing in helping him up (i think we all agree he should have left the kid alone!) then got on with his job. I agree though about the first aid thing..i wonder if they are prepared if something serious happens on field? It's not so obvious when one has a bad hit to the head region which i guess could be just as serious. Lucky for josh he wasn't that serious but i imagine he will be very sore for a few days to come.

Here here, we all agree on something..end of topic :)
