Well russia is a side that i respect a lot, this no doubt will be greeces hardest game, but with greece needing it more im going to go for the safe 1-0 victory, tsartas off a free kick to break the game wide open, defense should be tight for the russians to break. Im interested in this one cos we may get to see greece play with the ball instead of sitting back like they did with the higher ranked opponents. Im hoping papadopoulos gets a run, i think he is better then vryzas in attack. Dellas should be ok tos start so it looks good, please otto dont let dabizas play.

Greece will find a way to totally stuff it up after their fantastic start to the tournament.

Russia 2-0

yeah but your prediction doesnt count cos your from altona lol, na kidding, i just think they wont choke cos of the coach, he has stressed the last few days how the side shouldnt take it easy, im sure they will fight for a good result.

Russia have practically no defenders left, but you never know what will happen because there are no expectations in this match for them. But if Greece keep the concentration levels up to the levels they have shown so far, they will win and top Group A.

Greece 1-0 Russia

According to uefa.com, there will be less Greek fans at the match because many only bought packages for the first two games, thinking they would be knocked out before the final match! Predictably, travel agents in Athens have been inundated with requests for Portugese holidays.;)

Will these supporters be flying accross or travelling on the back of a overcrowded bandwagon...which we all know what happens next ?

Good luck to them but the idea of seeing a sea of blue n' white in the stadium (Roos!!:) ) will be fantastic value.

Didn't we all know this would happen. I did anyway. Russia defeat Greece 2-1. The Greeks still go through to q/f's, despite the fact they're not a major tournament q/f quality team.

They deserve it, congratulations greece, russia were sh1t and we were even worse this morning but who cares we mande the final 8, im so happy, greece is going nuts as we speak.

They said the game against spain was the golden point, well vryzas goal was the golden goal as far as greece goes. It could have been 2-2 or 4-1 to russia, it was such an open game.

i think they are a quarter final quality side, they beat portugal fairly and took the point against spain, quarters finals karagounis and ginnakopoulos come back in.

Im so proud, the way they are partying in greece you wouldnt know they lost today, but in the end they got the single goal loss that was needed lol.

Go greece well done boys.

Well you were right - I did not expect Greece to do it this tough (perhaps the pressure was a bit too much) but they are through and I'm sure no-one cares how.

They actually might gain an advantage from this loss because now they will again have absolutely no expectations for the q/f after performing badly. Karagounis and maybe Giannakopoulos will return (although they will lose Vryzas) and they might just again surprise. The disadvantage is now probably a q/f against France and not England or Croatia.

I wouldn't want to work in an Athens travel agency today!

Yeah a russian side playing for pride would have always been hard, but no karagounis and gianokopoulos means no midfield engine, also fyssas from benfica comes back in to the defense. But they will be back for the quarters. I will like seeing greece the underdogs again, but greeks are invading portugal right now.

I dont mind playing france, they would be like 100% guaranteed to win, and thats when they may get caught out, greece must score first, but i dont care, the quarters is more then enough.
