That might be the case, re his value, but its basically giving us nothing. Its like us giving you Dell'Olio, when he wouldn't get a game in front of Ballantyne and Walters, its worthless.

It doesn't matter. That's what he is worth and seeing as he is out of contract Essendon should facilitate a trade.

But he could end up staying.

If essendon want to keep him they simply need to offer him a two year contract.

I can't remember the last time a player went to the PSD and didn't get to him preferred club.

I doubt it will get to the stage of making the call to re-draft him.

Freo is not showing serious interest, whereas he's clearly wanted at Essendon. He either gets traded or he'll sign our deal.

Possibly, but there's nothing stopping Essendon picking him in the PSD before Freo.

He's cleary testing the waters, but with no one yet making an offer I now think he'll stay. Maybe I'm a tad optimistic.

If he goes into the PSD and Freo have told him they will give him 3 years - Essendon still pick him up with 3 year contact on his head?

Well we just offered Hansen 3 years coming off playing half the year in the VFL.

Yeah, and Hansen's played about 50 more games.

And apparently he's not all that chuffed with your offer, anyway.

If Gumby really wants to go he has my blessing, however I'd still want something of use to Essendon, not pick 56 or Roberton.

Would any other Victorian club be interested in Roberton as part of a 3 way deal?

Collingwood. So you know the whole thing would be a waste of time.

Maybe Werribee.

He would stay at Essendon if the offered was 1.
2 would get him thinking and 3 would have him walking.

Agree, but it's become gospel that Freo have offered 3 years. Haven't seen a half-reputable source confirm that.

Who offers 3 years to someone who's played 28 games in 6 years, no matter how talented?

at 150k - 200k a year - it is not much out of a cap of 8 million.

Don't know if true, but it is the sort of thing we would have to do to prise him away.

A club that is cashed up enough to chase players like Cloke and Clark might. And then if it doesn't work out you can just pay out the contract and get the spot on the list back, all for around the same $800K or less. Would just be about assessing the risk/reward.

oops....not really a reply to you mufassa. bombermick.
