Hang on, read between the lines. Maybe the reason our club is saying that we only want Gumby through the PSD is because your club's making unrealistic demands and being hard to deal with.

You either didn't read or understand my post. If Gumby is only worth a third round pick and your club is demanding much more then he is worth what do you expect Freo to do? Fold and cough up a high draft pick? Or be firm in their stance and look into other avenues?

I'm not really getting into all that, or having a go at Freo. I was merely pointing out UTG's typical anti-Essendon agenda that makes him contradict himself in his own post.

I don't think anyone actually knows what these two clubs have discussed. it is probably been held up by the Tippett trade.

Bond (Freo's football manager) made it clear on trade radio that Gumby has had a medical, but they haven't had the full results come through yet. In short, he HASN'T passed a his medical YET. He may well do, but people have been talking as if it has. Freo wont move on Gumby until that's all cleared, hence the delay in any progress.

Once you realise Freo are as quiet as a mouse to the media and nobody but the club know what the **** is going on - it's quite liberating. You can ignore all the media and just wait for official news.

I'd say there's some chance.

He's better built than someone like Ryder or Vickery were, in their first year or two; and they both played a bit. Plus he's had a bit of time training with us as well.
I think some people are sort of grasping the wrong end of the stick with him, he is more a quick & agile leading guy with a huge reach, rather than a Brown/Tippett style steam-roller relying on strength.

He's still going to be quick & have a huge reach in AFL.

I'm expecting 5-10 games.

He wont have to go through the PSD. If he doesnt sign a contract then he will be delisted and then he can leave to the club of his choice. (This is my understanding anyway)

All he needs to do is put the contract that he wants with Essendon as his asking price. If you picked him up PSD I would say he would be absolutely delighted. pretty sure he would rather stay with the Bombers.
