Interesting that Hansen is still un-contracted - Rate him a bit higher than Gumby - A trade Gumby for Hansen could benefit both parties - Gumby plays as one of North's three towers - And I would play Hansen in defence.

We would have to sweeten the deal though, do not particularly like that part

There is always risk my friend it's just the level of risk you can afford to take.

True, but if Freo walk away there is zero risk he is going be included in their salary cap or lose any picks. Mitch Brown (cats) has injury issues and is 23 so why don't they go after him?

3rd round or nothing.

Why the heck would we need a HBF...especially one with poor kicking skills. That is probably the LEAST of our needs, I would consider a small forward/midfielder/ruckman as our most critical needs. Goddard will free Heppell up, we don't need an average HBF who is surplus to our needs.

Before you comment on him, at least watch a game or two. He has excellent kicking skills.

You need more than one HBF who can kick accurately, and with Roberton you would have one when Goddard or Heppell gets a heavy tag.

We also have Dempsey and Hibberd. A HBF is the last thing we need.

Jon Ralph - Freo only interested PSD, Dogs no interest.
Clearly his fragility is the main issue. And Dons probably being unreasonable on what they want, too

Your a flog simply.... Have you ever considered that Essendon would probably rather keep him then get a 3rd or 4th round pick. Only makes sense... ATM we dont have a genuine CHF, apart from Hurley but we want to play him down back next year, so Gumbleton is a required player for next season. RYDER, CRAMERI , HILLE , DANIHER are not CHF players... therefore unless you pay overs you will not get GUMBY... Unless he comes out and says he wants to leave...

Or unless we get him for free in the PSD which is the most likely scenario if you are unreasonable at the trade table and still refuse to offer him more then 1 year.

i think you will find gumby will playing in red and black next year.
This is my point... pay overs or dont get him

Essendon huffed and puffed about Kepler and then ended up delisting him. Freo picked him up in the ND for pick 77 or so.

All this talk of a 3rd round pick is stupid. The draft isn't that deep, unless they pick up something earlier than 51 I wouldn't be surprised if Essendon only takes 4 picks.

Currently:

Pick 10 (Daniher)
Pick 32
Pick 48
Pick 51
Pick 56 (Freo's 3rd round)
Pick 69
Pick 87
Pick 105
Pick 123

Agreed. Which is why Gumby will knock back your 1 year offer and ask to be traded to the club of his choice. At that point Essendon's choice is to either trade him for a nothing pick or let him walk to the ND or PSD with a price tag and 2 year contract on his head. He goes in either scenario, its just an opportunity to do the right thing by a player cruelled by injury.

I can't see Freo offering their 2nd rounder (pick 26) for him unless they don't plan on using that pick.

Classic UTG.

So Freo are only interested in getting him in the PSD, but it is Essendon that are being unreasonable?

Nice way to contradict yourself, but I suppose you always have to try and make Essendon look like dicks don't you?

Nice try, I have watched him for starters and he butchers just as many as he kicks, do not want. We have dempsey, hibberd...do I need to say any more. Michael Walters (and I am not saying he is on the table your side) would far and away suit our needs better

Son Son just signed a two year deal.

FYI Essendon will have a PSD pick before Freo. So there is no Guarantee they will get him in the PSD either.
