Well in that case I'm calling it first: Brisbane are going to win the premiershipTo be fair, it didn't say "in 2016"
I dont know about that. The Doggies just showed they are well and truly beatable. They will be scary good next season after this loss......
Could go one of two ways - they are steeled by this and dominate the next few years winning a flag or two. Or they drop their bundle because a large portion of their young players have had their sense of entitlement and destiny shattered. Jeremy Cameron was the embodiment of this attitude last night - he was the first one to gob off at every opportunity and the last one to get his hands on the ball and actually impact the game in any meaningful way. Did he even take a mark last night? One of the most inept performances from a talented key forward in recent history. They will be scary good next season after this loss......
I know I'm jumping the gun a bit, but after seeing GWS absolutely demolish the Swans - the best team in the comp - I think they are flag favourites, personally. This is just one game, but forget lack of finals experience, they are the real deal, and they seem there to also just have fun, from now on they've got nothing to lose. The Swans were actually trying their heart out, the pressure was intense, but the Giants just busted it right open.
Geelong didn't play their best, and even though Hawthorn played one of their best games all year, they couldn't beat them, even if it went right to the line. The Crows thrashed North, but that says nothing, nobody seriously thought the Roos were a chance. The winner of the Swans vs Crows match will be pretty battered, and I expect Geelong will probably beat them in the Prelim. If GWS play the way they did today, I expect them to absolutely smash the winner of Hawks vs Dogs. I haven't seen such aggressive, attacking, exciting football in a final for awhile. As we know the Swans still like to play defensive football creating a lot of stoppages, but the Giants' style of play just busted that wide open. GWS will do what Hawthorn did but much better, finding space and run behind the defensive line, with more speed, getting it in very quick on the rebound.
Sportsbet has them as slightly behind Geelong to win the flag, but I expect a Geelong vs GWS final, which actually could be quite interesting. The Cat's fans reaction to Stevie J should be worth it alone. Many the fears about the juggernaut the AFL has created are justified...
No you're notI'm glad I was wrong, go Doggies!
He's off with the pixies on that one I am afraid.
But that's irrelevant to what was being discussed. In regards to resources directed towards the Giants and the AFL's agenda to ensure they have sustained success it is completely relevant to know what the mindset at AFL HQ is. They want to be THE dominant sport in the country and will do whatever they think is required to achieve that.

AFL already the biggest comp in the land.
I dont get the logic that team 6-4 after 10 rounds is likely to make the GF. It's about making finals first. They need to win 7-12 to be assured of making finals. It's usual to overrate the previous years winner. They already have 1 foot in the GF.....
who knows how they will go in front of 100K on gf day at the G though.
Just hope its the Crows that get there as well.
I reckon a GWS v Dogs GF (AFL will want that)
Having 10 regulars out of the side with injury might have something to do with it.They aren't as good this year (so far) as I thought theyd be. Yes, they are 8-2, but with a percentage of 117.9, they aren't blowing teams away. As bad as Richmond were in throwing the game against them, even us who I consider a mid table side were able to challenge and almost beat them at Spotless. Any other decent side, such as a top 4 side would have beaten them.
I'm not sure their form this year so far screams premiership.
Yeh, but you should have the depth to cover it. It's not a lack of talent that is affecting the Giants.Having 10 regulars out of the side with injury might have something to do with it.
