Leek Aleer is listed as their starting 2nd tall defender.

I remember him being a massive draft bolter. Intercept marking specialist, but quite gangly and light. Not sure how he's gonna go if he's 1 out against FOG. Giving up 12kg to him.
Leek Aleer was in the Crows programme but we obviously didn't rate so he went to Centrals and dominated to get drafted.

I reckon they also play Haynes or Buckley or both

It’s tough, I reckon McHenry has the better forward craft (as weird as that sounds) but Murphy has the better skills in general play

Both are probably early 30’s on my list
They have similar output as small forwards but Ned has better skills. In terms of versatility, I think Murph has a slight edge. He beats McHenry for raw athleticism. He's faster and a bit more solidly built. His kamikaze style is good for the odd stoppage clearance whereas Ned never seemed to be able to make that work.

Final team is in

Himmelberg, McAdam, Schoenberg and Michalanney on the bench

Thilthorpe, Murphy, Parnell and Brown fail to make the cut. But Brown is confirmed to be the sub
I am starting to get a bad feeling with Thilthorpe's progress. He looks good at times and I understand he is only 20 but....

He is only 20…. You answered your own question. Be patient grasshopper.

I need to stop and reflect on how good Pedlar being in the round 1 side is.

I knew it was trending that way, but was still firmly in the "i'll believe it when I see it" category.

If that kid can play like he did in the SANFL finals for a few games this year, he'll probably get a rising star nom. He's still eligible right?

Yep he’s more powerful can go thru a ground ball among bodies and emerge the other side with ball in hand

Agree

One of those ones where players lose 4kgs on a weekend to Sydney then need to get back to par

At least it’s the start of season and bodies might be fresh

Cramp will be an issue in last quarter
While I do agree a clever coach and fitness staff will make next week a recovery session until Wednesday then 1 hard session followed by another easy few days
