I really hope we make it through to play you guys (obviously, duh), mainly because past history tells us that we match up pretty well - we've had a few close ones in recent memory. Also, for whatever reason, you're the only team we really seem to play well against at the MCG.

Having said that - Richmond are a different beast this year. Everything seems to click - ball movement is rapid and players are showing hunger I've not seen from the Tigers.

Would love to see 80k for a Richmond/WCE prelim ...it'l be a snoozefest if GWS make it through
We will get over 90k whoever we play. The fans are starved....

Exactly. West coast dominated us for large parts of the game round 3. Also Giants smashed us in the 1st qtr when we played them.
Both will be tough games regardless but I reckon there's a new belief and continuous improvement in this group. Won't bother me who we play, I'll back our boys in!

We are a very very different beast to the team that WCE played in round 3. I would say apart from Cats in Geelong since the Saints loss we have been awesome.

vs GWS - not a big win but we smashed them all over the park with our pressure and tackling.
vs Suns - Okay don't remember this game very well but we won a game i know i was terrified we'd lose given our record against them
vs Haws - Just come off beating Crows (in Adelaide), Swans, draw with GWS and should have beaten geelong and we never even gave them a sniff
vs Dockers - 100+ points @ Subi
vs Saints - Another bogey game given the poor effort in the first match and again never gave them a chance
vs Cats - Best pressure game i have ever seen, they were lucky to kick a goal before half time.

Just out of curiosity what is the membership for Richmond, and you do realise if we (or GWS) make it to the prelim, you also have to allow for opposition members wishing to attend. Don't know how many Geelong supporters made the trip to the G last weekend - perhaps some of them did not attend as the game was played away from their comfort zone, being Skilled Stadium?

75k members. Keep in mind as soon as our seats run out we can fill yours. Just gotta click West Coast member on the tab and we can start filling up your allocations.

Its why Cats fans were so pissed we had so many at the G on Friday. We took our seats and theirs.

Looking at it from another angle...

Geelong losing, and WCE winning maximises the value of Geelong's first rounder. (it'd be pick 13 if my maths is right)

As a bonus, finishing above GWS during H&A means that so long as they go out in the same round we do (or sooner), our first rounder will be, in effect, one higher due to them losing 1000 points.

So Geelong & GWS losing this week would mean we get picks 13 & 17...

If that is the case and true then I can understand why Geelong supporters were so p****d off! I'm sure that doesn't happen at Subi - if opposing allocated seats don't get sold by the cut-off date, then they go back on sale and WCE members and others are then free to purchase them. We certainly don't get access to any opposition allocated seats until that cut-off date - well that's my understanding anyway. In my opinion does not seem fair that Geelong supporters were shut out like this.

Excuse my ignorance on the matter as ive never purchased finals tickets

But dont you need to put your membership number in when buying tickets? If thats so how do you steal a geelong seat without a geelong membership.

I was under the impression it was open season on tickets once the members had their crack or am i wrong

Tikettek isnt smart enough to differentiate the different barcodes. You just put in your barcode number and chose with which members you want to sit. To he honest I think its fair. I was able to go to the game with 3 Tiger fans and 4 Cats fans and we all dat together. If barcodes couldnt be swapped between seating areas you wouldn't be able to go to games together with your mates or family.

If you had a Richmond mate with a Richmond barcode you would want to go to the game together and not sit separately.

Easy solution would be to only allow one team's members to buy in the other's allocation if they are buying tickets for members of both clubs.

You could put that restriction on for a certain period of time before opening the members' allocations up to both clubs.

Pick 17?! Pick 18 u mean!

Seriously, we should not fear either opponent. If we chase, harass and pressurize like v Geelong, we should be right. I would actually like us to step up again.

ill be barracking for the eagles on saturday because fk the plastics, but the eagles would be the harder game for us if they win

to make prelim they'll have beaten adelaide, port powah, and the giants. Good form and they have more finals experience than us

Does anyone know if WCE were able to fly back to Perth on Saturday night or had to go on Sunday?

Extra time, hotel sleep (limited because of the adrenalin), recovery Sunday morning, fly home, more recovery, training, fly out early Friday (or even Thursday afternoon) to Sydney, losing a couple of hours in the process and have a night (or two) in a hotel before the next game.

That is definitely not an ideal prep for a final. I'll be amazed if they're not a bit flat against GWS. If they do win that, then repeat the process in the lead up to the prelim, I'll be even more amazed if they're up to it against Richmond.

I think I heard they were not able to fly back until the Sunday, then recovery was on Monday, then training Tuesday & Wednesday. The players were instructed by the Medical staff to get plenty of rest and to look after themselves before flying out again on Thursday!! Hard decision for the Selectors - do they try and bring in some fresh players or stick with the same playing group?

This. Members of both clubs get their fair chance. Usually till Thursday. Then all remaining allocated seats go on sale to the general public
