Unfortunately, but as expected, our VFL side lost 72-122 to 3rd placed Brisbane at Brisbane.

We are now at 8 wins - 9 losses with just 1 game to play. We are currently 14th in the ladder, and with a win and 13% away from the 10th playoff spot, we will not be making VFL playoffs.

Boys played well until the last qtr. Looked good early , ump number 4 certainly helped get Brisbane going. Madden looked good on return, every time he went off Lions got on top. Boys looked cooked in the last. Missed chances to go further ahead or stay close. Leake, Stone and Brown were good as well

Great that Brown played well - I just hope that with the finals approaching, he has recovered his pre-suspension form and is ready to come back to the AFL

Who would you bring him in for? I wouldn’t have him in the 23 but a very handy backup if someone goes down injured. Could cause havoc if he had the defender trying to zone off on hogan

Fair point - it just gives us more options if we have injuries.

It could only be for Gruz (assuming Riccardi is not available)

How did my guy Phoenix Gothard go?

Still looking classy?

The Giants regain Xavier O’Halloran but will bring an undermanned team to Melbourne, losing the promoted Conor Stone and injured Jacob Wehr and Marc Sheather, with Shepparton teenager Ned Byrne called up for his debut.

Williamstown’s soft tissue curse has struck again, with Noah Gadsby ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury, while Joel Fitzgerald and Zac Pritchard will miss Saturday’s DSV Stadium clash against GWS for the same reason. The Seagulls are up to 19 soft tissue leg injuries this season, but they regain skipper Cam Polson from his latest issue, while Ryley Stoddart (ribs) also returns and there is a debut for highly-rated Western Jets tall Lucas Impey, the latest to come out of the Darley footy factory.

Our VFL team lost 113-87 to Williamstown. We finish the season with a 8 win-10 loss record, and will miss the finals, after losing our last 3 games - we are currently 14th and 1 win behind Richmond’s VFL team who are 10th (and yet to play this weekend).

Our club’s VFL season review

Would be good to see some review of the VFL listed players. We had some good contributors who played plenty of footy for the Giants VFL this season.

Would be interested to know why we didn't see more of Charlie McCormack this year in the VFL side. One game at the start methinks.

I know he was playing and presumably living in the country; so was it he didn't want to travel or he wasn't asked to play?
