Just hearing all this news about Dimma now - what a disappointing turn of events.

Anyone give me a brief rundown of what the deal is? From what i am reading, Dimma has had a younger mistress "for years" that works at the club & it has led to him and his wife separating since mid last year & he is officially seeing the younger employee.

The Cotchins are upset by him & Dimma's kids spent Xmas day with them? Was Dimma's ex-wife there or not?

Is there any other tidbits i am missing here? Based on these facts, just wow - everyones life is a ****ing mess

I think we need to be prepared for the edge of our cliff to come very suddenly. I would hate to say it, but the writing was on the wall this year that the clubs success had slanted their perceptions and standards. The rance/Higgins rumours. The AFL's own comments about our players being entitlted, the Cotchins debacle, Sydney, CCJ, Sydney again. There is now an undisputed arrogance which has crept into our culture where we, appear, not to care too much about the lives of those our people around us that become collateral damage to our decisions and behaviour. Success "at any cost". always comes at a cost, eventually. And here it is with a breadcrumb of other events leading us to this point.

People can say " its a personal matter" as much as they like. Don't remember these same people thinking the same thing about Mrs Cotchin's beauty spa visit earlier in the year - Dimma having an affair with a staff member over 15 years his younger is inexcusable from a leader of young men. It pains me to say it, but our off field stuff has finally gotten to a point where it can't be ignored or we run the risk of destroying the new culture which took 40 years to repair since the last time we imploded in ethos.

If Dimma stood down i would welcome it & i say it with a very broken heart. I can't believe Dimma has done this - Wasn't he referencing his wifevall year as being his rock and "giving him a dressing down" etc? He just looks like a bullshit artist at this stage - Im just shocked tbh. 2021 isnopt off to a great start really

Sorry, but when your coach - a leader of young men - is having affairs on his wife and 3 kids with a much younger staff member who works beneath his position of power, then his position becomes untenable IMO. The power of the club was that we support the kids/players with our rock solid leadership from making these types of situations - if the coach is the one doing these things though, i am not sure how you can honestly say this structure can hold its integrity.

The splatter of offield issues this season was a substantial increase from those of the past. There is a fair argument that this rise in player arrogance, hubris and discipline we saw this year ties in perfectly with the time frame of this story - shit always falls from the top.

I don't know why you are belittling the story - the ****ing coach had an affair with a female under his employment position. Dimma has 3 kids also effected by this decision by him. Its not a media beat up - He has separated from his wife. Making jokes or trying to downgrade the nature of the story to be nothing more than gossip is total bulldust.

It's a big story & deserves to be covered IMO. Dimma has proudly worn the crown for family first, progressive culture. With that comes the responsibility of actually being that person. Fudging your liberal pride is something you can maybe get away with in a normal pedestrian life - but that of a senior AFL coach to the most successful team in Australian sport for the past decade ... yeah, nah - thats a legit story

Much easier to cheat on your wife & kids when they are in a different state and your mistress is stuck in a closed hub with you. No wonder he was relieved to get himself into the hub - would have created a nice little bubble for him to live with his dishonesty to his family - a nice veil of confusion to help hide his actual reality
