It's not even the big calls like Geelong cant win the flag in 2011, but he kept banging on today how the floodgates were about to burst open due to our defenders having no further run in their legs.

He is like Wallsey, they are "economists", make whatever calls they like and and soon as they are wrong, make another one.

That's why I only listen to the chief

He may struggle to call hawks games, but he actually calls it, rather then delivering his opinion
Opinions are fine.

There are many (me incldued) that thought we'd struggle this week due to the fixturing and the taxing and disappointing nature of last week's game.

The difference between the bigfooty hawks and commentators?
The bigfooty hawks fans are saying "yep - we were wrong".

I used to like him, but he grates on me now I must admit. Today was a painful combination; between Derwayne, "I :hearts: the Swans" Healy and King... I wasn't sure I'd last the game. Thankfully there's a mute button. Johnson is okay.

I'd love it if Richo could commentate for both networks. He's the best boundary rider we've had in a while in my opinion. Brings some nice insights to the table and doesn't claim to know "the recipe to winning" and make massive, attention-seeking calls like "Geelong CANNOT win the 2011 grand final."

I actually quite like David King. One of the few commentators that will have an opinion and stand by it, even if it is wrong. And he is usually very complementary of Hawthorn.

He is a lot better then Gerad Healy, who would be one of the most reactive commentators in the game. Backflips on almost everything, and has the memory of a Gold Fish. Today he claimed that Essendon are a premiership contender after their mauling of Melbourne.

Did anyone notice in the last the whole Healy "I think too much is made about the 6 day break" bit followed by the rest " this is an amazing effort by the hawks after only 6 days break" bit
To be fair, the others had played the game within the last two decades

I like Kingy. I actually think he is a closet Hawk supporter with his love for us at times.
He is very insightful and is pretty good generally.

Sounded like Healy was auditioning for a lead role in the AFL's amateur hour in fixing our fixture for next year and beyond.

I actually like king and while he has jumped off the hawk band wagon and admits it he does IMO have a really good footy brain and is insightful and informed which surprises because I always thought he was a bit of a tosser with limited brain cells when he was playing. I enjoy both him and Richo on the sidelines

I'm a close mate of Kingys, went to school with him at Assumption College
Great bloke, loves his footy, loves a beer and a chat, and a great family man
Hated him as a player cause we struggled to ever get near the Kangas when he played, and boy did he let me know about it

You'll find that most if not all the commentators who were players in the 80's never say anything positive (except for forced cliches) about Hawthorn. Reason being none of them saw a win against Hawthorn.
Talking about Gerard Healy?
Kingy started his career in 1994

WTF is with Dwayne Russell. Every WC shot at goal was called as "the most important kick of the afternoon."

Is this the only cliche he has ?

David King was the player I hated most during his career. He was such a dirty bastard and I used to yell at him when he was on the screen, but I love him as a commentator, especially on AFL360. He annoyed the crap out of me with his talk about the prospects of a Weagles comeback yesterday, but that irked me because of my paranoia over last week's debacle. Now if he can only talk some sense into that douche McClure who insists that the Hawks are flat track bullies, but conveniently forgets solid 2012 wins over Pies, Eagles and Swans in Sydney that weren't exactly cakewalks, I'd like Kingy even more.

Well, folks, when you're right 52% of the time, you're wrong 48% of the time...
