I think we might need to be involved in a aiding a few clubs in getting what they need. I came up with a few trade scenarios. Please keep in mind these are individual trades

Scenario 1:

Hawks:
In: Pick 2, Pick 15, Pick 26
Out: Pick 6, Mitchell, Brockman

Dees:
In: Eagles future 1st, Grundy
Out: Jackson, Future 1st

Pies:
In: Mitchell, Dees Future 1st
Out: Grundy, Pick 15

Eagles:
In: Pick 6, Brockman, Jackson
Out: Pick 2, Pick 26, Future 1st

Scenario 2:

Hawks:
In: Lions future 4th, Pick 67
Out: Pick 61, Gunston

Lions:
In: Gunston, Pick 61
Out: Lions future 4th, Pick 67

Scenario 3:

Hawks:
In: Pick 31
Out: Brockman

Bulldogs:
In: Lobb, Pick 22
Out: Pick 11, Pick 31

Freo:
In: Pick 11, Brockman
Out: Logue, Lobb

North:
In: Logue
Out: Pick 22

Thoughts?

If I was playing moneyball with our team I'd enquire about Toby Mclean...surely gettable and a good age profile. Massively played out of position.

Logue is OOC so will just walk to North in the PSD and in scenario 1 the Eagles are essential trading a future 1st and 26 for Brockman and 6, do not see that benefiting them.

Spare a thought for pies fans who are trying to get their head around why they’re pushing Grundy out to pay McStay(and Frampton and Hill).

We will be a destination club again, as long as we don't half ass our rebuild. Continue going to the draft and getting those quality kids in.
This ain't our time.
Geelong have half assed a rebuild for 20 years and are a destination club....hence why they haven't rebuilt

these are excuses for Hawthorn poor management post 2015

Scenario one is an absolute dream tbh.

Yeah pretty poorly run club post 2015 flag up until 2020, hopefully we're starting to turn the corner now.

I know I'm a bit late to the brief "none of our young mids look like future top 10 players in the comp although they'll be good players" discussion and the comparisons to Clayton Oliver, but can we just take a second to remember that Jai Newcombe, before last year's mid-season draft, had never had exposure to an elite environment. Never even made a NAB League U/18 team. On that basis, it'll probably be another year or two before we see peak Jai. He absolutely can be a top 10 player in the comp. I can't remember the game, but I remember a passage a play where he was on his own forward of centre and hit up Mitch Lewis on a lead with a 35 metre bullet thar got no higher than a metre off the ground at any stage. If he loses another 1-2kg of the puppy fat and keeps working on his kicking in addition to his already impressive skillset, look.out
this is well written and I totally agree. We just need another.

Mate I hate Geelong as much as anyone but people having a whinge that players want to go there and suggesting it shouldn’t be allowed are being utterly deluded. Every club that doesn’t have academies is playing by the same rules - I’d rather get even with them than get mad. Hawthorn needs to focus on how we can get these players nominating us again.
This is so, so right !!

Exactly, Mcstay is a joke. If Gunston goes to Brizzy, what a upgrade they get. The fact he is a few years older doesn’t even matter. McStay is a decoy forward, does nothing. If Gunston goes we should refuse whatever late useless pick they offer and get something decent From them. They won’t sign him as a free agent as it screws there compo pick from McStay. Will be disappointed if we accept a late crap pick. Tell Brisbane he either goes as a free agent or cough up. Sick of us giving up players for late picks.

Could be the second straight year there are no takers for TOM.

Slow mids with limited footskills are not the flavour of the month. Especially with how the game is played post rule changes.

Would we take a future 3rd if thats all that was offered in his and our best interests?

Are people actually trying to make a claim that players should be banned from nominating Geelong ? WTF
Look at the title of this thread.
It is a legitimate "crazy suggestion". Then again it is also an "unfeasible wishlist". Anyway it is eminently qualified to be on this thread.

This is our best play at getting Pick 2 but we need to give up more than that.

Hawks:
In: Pick 2
Out: Pick 6, Pick 25, Mitchell

Melbourne:
In: Pick 6, Pick 16
Out: Jackson, Pick 32

Eagles:
In: Jackson, Pick 32
Out: Pick 2

Brisbane:
In: Pick 25, Mitchell Pick*
Out: Pick 16

Collingwood:
In: Mitchell
Out: Pick *

He's worth a mid second rounder

Clubs offering 7 years to Jacob Hopper.

Both of these can't be true.

Isn't a big part of the reason players choose there is because they are from that region and want to go back to living down that way?
