YesAwesome post.
There's no way the pies would be dumb enough to let this guy go.I heard it was reported he had an offer from Pies but is not signed so if we offered more coin and an extra year or 2. He showed he can play forward and back
Hendo deserves two years. You’d imagine Hendo would get another year to provide cover for Scully - particularly as he mightn’t start the season.
I know. I got it wrong. That's because Sam Collins signed with gold coast
LP no one gets a two year deal after they turn 30Hendo deserves two years.
Has been great since coming across. really hasn't put a foot wrong. Also probably our most accurate kick for goal.
Give him two years.
What do they need to achieve to get a brown and gold star?Yes
It had no spelling mistakes , good punctuation & well paragraphed.
They should be proud to receive my Gold Star as I just don’t hand them out willy-nilly
SO if they paint gold stripes on it, they'd be doing everyone a favour?Quite a few Bigfooty posters certainly deserve my brown star
Wingard(playing between mid and forward). 28 goals
Roughead 44 goals
Gunston 48 goals
Bruest 49 goals
Poppy 22 goals
Smith 14 goals
1.3 + 2 + 2.2 + 2.2 + 1 + 0.6
= 9.3 goals a game from those 5
= 56 points
I remember everyone on here wanted us to draft Kieren Collins in 2015. He had some hype on him at the time that people thought he could replace Lake. The Bulldogs were rated as draft winners when he fell to pick 26 and we had picked Burton and Lovell instead. If the club select guys on their character then this guy is no chance
Ned needs a muzzle or he needs to be taken to the pound.
I don’t have that sort of authorityWhat do they need to achieve to get a brown and gold star?
Many of us seem to believe we paid overs for Wingard. I don't like to disrespect any Hawthorn player, past or present, so I've gone along with most people's assessment of Burton. It is only overs if Burton is as good as most of you seem to think. I really like the character of the kid and his resolve to overcome a very bad injury to play at the elite level. However, I think he is being overhyped and overrated. Please go back and watch when and where he got his possessions and marked the ball. He has not lived up to the expectations that were placed on him. He is far too slow, does not read the ball as well as you would expect and does not impact the game in any substantial way. He is a decent lock down defender on a very particular type of forward. Someone who is slow and can't jump.
He has not made an impact like a Worble (lol) or Hardwick who have made a bigger contribution in less time than him. If you look at decent players like Stratton, Sicily, Breust, Smith who were not all high picks, they made an impact and showed promise within 12-18 months. Burton was given every opportunity but could not do that. He is not worth a first pick. Do you guys think if were trading Burton for a pick we would have got a first round pick? I certainly don't think so. We paid the equivalent of a first and two seconds and got a third back. So just shy of two firsts. Is Wingard worth that? ABSOLUTELY!!!
Try the mind altering substances. It might help you relax a bit.
SO if they paint gold stripes on it, they'd be doing everyone a favour?
Smith & Hendo on the wings & Scully playing HHF role. He'll run the ground like a wingman either way, but this is a guy you want within reach of goals as well.Smith and Scully starting with Henderson as the third option coming off the bench = winning!
Thanks SvenHey mate, I don't know much about Scullys issue specifically other than it was a nasty one with a secondary setback. I believe he broke his Fibula (not too big of a deal as its not a weight bearing bone) and also injured his Syndesmosis (a big deal as it essentially joins the Tibia and Fibula together).
From what I see day to day, an elite Athlete like Scully shouldn't have too much trouble healing his injuries - particularly if the Hawks have assessed him and approved his medical. That gives me great confidence.
The huge hassle for most traumatic ankle injuries is that they become really stiff due - in part - to a need to immobilize it to help it all mesh. Ankle stiffness is a little cheeky because its potentially linked to a huge amount of other niggles - navicular issues, Achilles dysfunction, shin spints, ACLs, plantar fasciitis, cartilage issues etc. None are guaranteed of course but his risk may increase depending on how he goes. Scully is a beast so id imagine hed have no trouble getting the conditioning side of it right.
Essentially I have no idea without getting a hold of him myself, but clinically Id guess the stiffness might be a challenge. Or it may not haha. Either way they seem confident at the club!
Can you give us a bit more info for supporters not in the know?
It was about Kieran Collins, not ScullyYes also not sure what you mean?
I am not sure what sort of bloke Scully is off the field and the social scene and don't really care but I heard he is very professional (almost fanatical) in regards to his preparation and training so would be doing everything possible to get his ankle right.
That's probably why the Hawks took a chance even with pick 53 because a very serious injury to get right and maybe a toss of the coin.
I would also give Henderson a two year deal regardless if Scully plays or not as deserves it.
