Wow. Take note of those not clapping for the appointment of the new pres.
Hopefully they can all work together but I sense that Gowers and Merlino may have their work cut out instigating change. Apart from Merlino the old guard remain as directors and will be vigorously defending their performance and legacy.

Feel for Nank.

He can thank Jeff for that and his inability to distance himself from the dottery old man and his shouting at the clouds
I’m a bit confused at how Maria Liu didn’t get in, given she was on both tickets. Got to be one of the strangest results…

I’m not looking to stir the pot but I think it would of been a case of choosing a bloke ahead of another female - very few would of gone with two women when voting and it’s a case of better the devil you know

The board tried to get Merlino on their ticket, particularly Nank.
He went it alone and got on the board anyway as he had the backing of H4C.

The board will need to come to terms with Gowers being the members choice for Pres, and perhaps they will reflect on just why it turned out that way.

Wishing Gowers all the best, I hope the club and supporters embrace him.

Glad to put this H4C rubbish to bed.

Vanders did not clap at all when Gowers was announced.

The club has been divided and cannot possibly stay that way so if there are people unhappy with the new president and/or appointments, they need to consider their positions at the club. Like everything with Kennett, this has become very political. There will be Kennett people still at the club and there is every chance that Kennett will be seeking to use them to be disruptive. Tonight's change of president and new board members is just the beginning.

I’m very pleased Katie Hudson remains on the board. She was the most impressive board incumbent/candidate in my mind after listening to all the podcasts with the candidates.

Let’s hope they resign

I didn’t get everything I voted for, but enough new blood in important positions to hopefully get the club back on track. Glad to see the end of the toxic Kennett era. He can go seek his final scraps of relevance from Sky News. He won’t be ruling from the grave with Gowers as president
