I really don't see what the afl has got to do with it.
This is a police matter first and foremost and that's where it should remain until a full investigation has been completed
Then a club matter and then if necessary an afl matter

I also don't understand the need to link Cyril to any of this
You really have offered no more than unsubstantiated ramblings and I'm beginning to think you know no more than anyone else
You can post a "told you so" down the track

its not Cyril!

ok chief
the afl have a role to play given their stance on women issues

they will remain unsubstantiated ramblings until the police findings come out
what do you want a copy of the police investigation before its done

seriously

Not at all - that's why I'm happy to wait until a report comes out (if it ever does). It's you that I don't believe knows anymore than anyone else on here.
It just amuses me that since Friday there has been at least 6 different names thrown up;
Robbo thinks the players should be named to protect the other 40 odd on the list even though it's just an investigation;
That only one player was caught on tape BUT many saw the three leave together
That the person MAY have had their drink spiked - source? - a source
That the boyfriend picked her up from the house in the morning
That Gill, the moral crusader for women's rights (how derogatory) has a problem here - why does he have a problem - has the afl even made a statement (I haven't read any of the articles)

Sure. But the context of this thread is sexual assault. Sure there are plenty of AFL players who are happy with themselves but to imply sexual assault is part of the AFL player culture is simply offensive to the 99% of players that would no more think of assaulting a women than you or I would.

Yeah I didn't take his statement like that. And I'm not sure he meant it like that, but I would agree with your statement if that was case.

Yes being an AFL footballer is a tough and hard game, the scrutiny and pressure at times overbearing. But every off season it's the same old story of moronic behaviours, drunken benders, 'unprovoked attacks', drug rumours, sex scandals......and the then obligatory club denials, cover ups and PR spin which they completely screw up making the situation even worse.

Going to be interesting given the precedent set by Stephen Milne. It's likely the cops and AFL will try the same tricks they did last time (bribing the victim, dragging things out).

As bad as this sounds it will matter to Hawthorn that the players implicated are not exactly their top players. If it was a top 5 or top 10 player they might react differently to how they will react in this situation.

this is a scandal and rumors board but we can't name the rumored players involved in this scandal?

Well I'm stumped

Welcome to BF mate, where you cant even boooo a player anym

I have asked him twice to clarify what he knows, without naming names

" Oh I best not go there '

" Gill wont be happy '

" went there together, boyfriend picked her up in the morning "

" This will get bigger "

I'm with you, he's got nothing, just rehashing 3rd hand news doing the Mexican news service. I bet he even looks like Slobbo :D

SEVERAL Hawthorn teammates are expected to be interviewed about the night a teenage girl has alleged she was r*ped by two players.
The 19-year-old girl has claimed a Hawks premiership winner and a squad member r*ped her after they all met at Richmond’s Mountain View Hotel on October 8 — five days after the Hawthorn’s historic three-peat.
The pair were scheduled to be interviewed Monday and Tuesday by Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives at Box Hill police station.
The alleged victim has claimed her drink was spiked and her memory of the night was “hazy’’, but she recalled being attacked by two players and suffered related injuries, according to police sources.
The two players are being interviewed by police.
She is understood to have taken a taxi with one or both of the accused from the bar to an Ashwood house where a number of Hawthorn players live.
According to one report both players were in the cab, but another suggests the alleged victim was only accompanied by the younger Hawk, with his mate arriving at the property later.
The young woman has claimed the rape occurred at the house in the early hours of Friday, October 9.
Hawthorn sources say the duo at the centre of the allegations have vigorously professed their innocence.
A source said the two accused and the woman had been joined at the house during the early hours by other teammates.
Their evidence could be critical to the case, as they are understood to have told the club that the alleged victim did not appear “distressed’’.
One of the two accused is believed to have been ordered back from an overseas trip.
The Hawthorn Football Club board discussed the issue at a monthly meeting on Monday, where directors were updated with all available facts.
The virtue of naming the pair was also debated, but officials had no comment.
Victoria Police spokesman Adam West said: “We are investigating a report of a sexual offence in Ashwood on October 9. As the matter is ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further.’’

I don't know why the names are still being held back. They have been leaked several times on social media by extremely trustworthy sources (and usually deleted an hour or so afterwards). IMO by holding back the names they are potentially making things worse.

That story just seems like it is either missing a lot of detail or it will be a massive case or he says, she says and unfortunately for the girls involved.... innocent until proven guilty. The girl though must be going through a tough time currently, hope she is getting appropriate assistance either by Hawks or AFL.

Looks like club has taken players twitter accounts down to .

It looks like there's remnants of a discussion relating to the alleged charges on the Instagram account of one of the players who was mentioned on social media this afternoon. I can definitely understand why the twitter accounts would be closed for now.

'The alleged victim did not appear distressed'.

So it begins. Everyone worried about the smearing of the players' reputations, but watch this sort of approach come out.

Both accounts are down and probably a good idea for them to be , until whatever action is taken by by police .

Let's be clear, here.

No one here knows anything about the events, so please resist the temptation to speculate about why the girl was at the house, who did what to whom and how often and with the aid of what substance. If you really do know something, frankly you're telling the wrong people.
