You might want to listen. He actually said how this was going to play out - HRC and then court if no settlement - way before it was mentioned in the press or most would have known that HRC even dealt with issues like this.

Many of us said this about a minute after it was announced that the AFL was going to run an investigation. Months before it even went to the HRC.

It has always been obvious it was going to end in court.

It's possible Hawks would prefer settling prior court but they are in a bind if Clarkson and Fagan aren't prepared to do same

Which was always going to happen. The claims were so extreme that you couldnt imagine they found some sort of middle ground. And the club cant apologise and accept the claims without it blaming the coaches for some horrific things.

Yes, but clearly both parties are too far apart in their understanding of events. Court proceedings offer the benefit of a formal resolution which is long overdue. Rightly or wrongly, this is getting resolved now.

You find middle ground. But mediation fails literally all the time. Especially when the 2 sides are at total opposite ends and you will never find a middle ground.

I would think the expensive lawyers tip it in your favour. Negotiation is literally what lawyers mostly do. Ending up in court is a failure.

Very, very unlikely this happened as bluntly as this or they wouldn't want it making it to court...

More likely, a toxic relationship was raised by coaches as "are you sure you want to continue this?". A fair question, especially from people who see you every day and are you leaders, presumably caring about you.

Looked to me like he's still bluffing and doesn't think he's going to get called. But we're both just projecting.

It's a high profile case on an issue that gets a lot of press. I wouldn't assume that the players have low skilled lawyers - lots will have wanted to take a case like this. I wouldn't assume that the coaches will have superior lawyers. It's likely to be the opposite as they'll be paying for it all themselves and they're not billionaires.

Actually, when I said it was going to the Human Rights Commission in late 2022, your own responses to my post and those responding to my posts would strongly suggest you had no idea it was going to the Human Rights Commission.
