Well I thought Scrimshaw started off scratching but improved as the game went on
Decent in the middle period, but then some stinkers again in the 4th quarter

Thrashed...embarassed.

Few positives:

Rucks are now competitive
Green did well
Newk, Day, Ward in middle ok
Chad showed intent
Moore is class

Rest is a work in progress.

It will be a long and frustrating year folks.

I disagree it will be frustrating. I'm looking forward to it.

We should know what to expect. Youngest team in the comp with the majority of the most talented players in their 1st or 2nd year.

Enjoy the positives and look to the future.

Hustwaite, Day, newc, Ward and cmac all looked good today in the middle and we have Stephens and Mackenzie to cover in. That's extremely exciting.

Moore is elite and Butler showed plenty with brocky to come in.

DGB showed a lot. He'll be fine.

3 rucks are all 24 and we know rucks come into their own after 25.

Grab Reid or one of the talented key forwards at the top end of the draft and we are almost set.

It was boys vs men today, don't read too much into it.

I only saw the first 15 minutes a last half ( well the 3rd and 4th )
Duke looks like he can to another level - the handball inboard under pressure in the 3rd was sublime
Butler looks a future star , class
Ward so clean and assured
DGB was very good from what I saw , looks on a nice steady upward curve
Hustwaite very clean hands , cool head
C Mac class again just some poor dinky kicks
Reeves/Meek look an exciting combo
Day - class again , looks a bit bigger 👍

Every error got punished by a damn good side . They had structure , we didnt and just ran forward .
Im not worried enough positives for me all from the younger brigade

Was really impressed with DGB today - took some great intercept and contested marks. Should shut the haters up for at least week

Conversely Jeka was terrible. No appetite for the contest and no second efforts. Will be cut by seasons end

Loving the look of O’Sullivan already, we have a player here

People are taking this game a bit too seriously on here. You do realise they're Box Hill players out there?

Watched the highlights. Hawks were jogging, cats were going 100% (or a lot harder than the hawks)

Cats didn't get out of first gear mate.

Reality is the better teams are going to get us badly at times this year. When the proper stuff starts, we desperately need more endeavour from our senior players to lead.

I love our attacking mindset under Sam, but today it just felt we had far too many running forward, only for us to frequently turn it over and the cats were out... over and over. It reminded me a bit of junior footy, with all the talented kids just wanting to run forward to get a kick.

The midfield is going to be a real work in progress, having young talent is one thing, but learning to play together and within a system is another. Comfortable in your standing to be unselfish with positioning.

We will be better rd 20 than we will at any point in the first two months.
