From my view that was first contact and there is clearly a gap between ball and post. The slight angle of a straight on camera, if there is a gap between the post and the ball i think its fair to say the ball was clearly over the line.

I won't get into the geometry of ball and post and back of the line but it wasn't exactly a super slo mo camera so you can't see where it's first touched. There's no way you could conclusively over rule the on field decision. But they did anyhow.
