Came back here to adl, I recall...didnt even go back to his sanfl club. Went out to the barossa fl for a few yrs and finished playing up in Darwin.
I'm sure we picked him up as compensation for losing a player to another club ... might be wrong.

It's completely relevant until those sides beat us again.

Besides, the Dogs form this season has been worse than ours and they were thumped over in the West.

Nakia your the one that said we were a better side this year than last year pal.

And listed our 6 out of 7 against certain sides last season.

And your telling me in 2017 those 2016 results are relevant when we have a very different side and so do adelaide not to mention the bulldogs winning four finals and a grand final since we played them last and again have key injuries.

How are hawthorn travelling in 2017 compared to 2016 top 4 side. It's hogwash nakia you beat sides in finals you can run your mouth and stats as relevant. Your clinging onto insignificant results from last season only the bulldogs results matter because they are now premiers and everyone is chasing them!

It's round 4 your calling us better side this year but happy to call 2016 results relevant and ignored the whole finals series o.k mate i'm just going to watch untill we actually play those sides

Correct. 'Structurely' better, results are irrelevant really.

And, we're still a better side than those listed until they prove otherwise.

So structurely we are better and results are irrelevant o.k.

Were still a better side until the others prove otherwise got it.

Carry on

I'll say it again slowly.

We are a better side this year because we're structured better ... our undefeated start to the year is irrelevant.

We are currently a better side than the Bulldogs, etc until they beat us and prove otherwise.

The Dogs were the beneficiaries of a farcical pre-finals bye which put better sides at a disadvantage.

I hope that clears things up.

One of the best things that could happen today is rather than Hawkins Danger Selwood Menzel having a big game one of the following pulls one out of the hat

Motlop
Cockatoo
Tuohy
Smith
Guthrie

I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here since i would be happy with just any sort of win but I would love to see someone stand up and say look out boys I'm here too and im going to carve up these hawks

I've been waiting a long time - doesn't seem to happen..

I don't think we're necessarily better then we were last year (or worse), more that we're just playing differently. We've had some significant personnel changes over the offseason and this gameplan and set up suits the players we've been selecting. Compared to last year it feels as if we're selecting less inside ball winners then last year. As if our learnt lesson was that we can't go through them so we'll go around them.

We're doing things I didn't think we were capable of pulling off last year ( executing quick counter attacks from defense [Thanks to our trades and pre-season training]) which is great but I wish it wasn't at the cost of what we were good at last year (stoppage, I50 dominance and marks I50 dominance). On the plus side I don't see why we can't do both I just waiting for it to all come together.

I think last season was a "success" because we had at least 4 new additions from other teams that fitted in well enough, maybe 5 if we count Stanley, 6 in SS, and we won 18/24 games after a poor 2015 season.
This year, we would be expected to consolidate our 2016 season on that basis, slightly countered by departures of Boris- huge, and Bartel. Every team goes through arrivals and departures, but 2016 was huge in our history.

And this is all occurring because we're better structurely ... run off half back and less talls.
