Yep fair call, but I would rather my Small defender keep a guy like Eddie Betts to a minimal impact, like he did twice last year and then worry about getting more of the pill.

Look at Nick Smith from Sydney; doesn't get a lot of it but neither do his opponents.
It doesn't actually matter who is playing on a Rioli or Betts, it's actually more about the defensive work our midfielders do. If they are running back hard to fill space or winning the contested ball, then Betts etc start kick chasing in the midfield. This means that Bews or Mackie or Ruggles get less goals kicked on them and get the credit for holding them quiet. No such thing really happened.

Likewise when people complain about Taylor not scoring enough, or at all, in our forward line, well Leigh Matthews and Chris Scott and team are still saying, it's an overall success because Hawk and Menzel are scoring more freely with more one on one contests occurring.

There is an overall game plan at work.

7 News about to show a few cats players in South Africa... mid-week trip?
The last bit showed them being interviewed in Geelong by Sean Salby (?), so it was probably a constructed ad for the Cats and Cotton On Group, masquerading as news, but more about marketing Cotton On's sustainability model when selling cheap tshirts etc.

No doubt the footage was made in the off season. Strangely they didn't have their Cotton On tshirts on for the footage, so it was before the JLT.

Even the publicity over the JLT jumpers was good advertising for the brand.

He was. Would've been positive to have around the club though.
Could of been 10 goals down with 10 mins to go and he'd still be Geein up the boys telling em it's still game on.
All they needed was a fire starter

Just don't ask him about finals.

Was at Geelong for five years, and we played in five of them. He was considered for precisely none.

Mooney reckons it will be a 10 goal Cats win. I'm still not convinced.
I'm not convinced at all.
Hawks are too proud a club to just roll over for us I fear.

We were 6 from 7 against those sides last year and we're a better side this year.

All irrelevant in 2017 and how can you call that after 3 rounds of football.

On form lines we beat a 0-4 side north and
Freo 2-2 and melb 2-2 two of those sides undermanned. None you could clearly say are a top 8 side on form. Or have except melbourne been tipped to be top 6 sides

I like the optimism but gone real early

One of the great architectural achievements by the city of Geelong?
Artistic, not architectural. FYI the council commissioned an artist to design and create the bollards. She died a few years ago
