“Having said that, around our pick there will be a number of quality mids, but there will also be some quality talls as well.

Yeah didn't like the comment from Dodoro denying that our midfield is a major weakness.

Perhaps they're of the view that with actual instructions to defend rather than all run to the same spot, it won't be as much of a problem.

Assuming Watson, Stanton and even Winderlich are performing close to their best, if Hird and co. can get Zaharakis, Howlett, Myers, Melksham and even Prismall to reach another level or two, perhaps we won't need more than another one or two quality midfielders.

But yes, do not want talls.

I dont mind us drafting a ruckman at pick 30.... or maybe a tallish defender late if needed but all of our energy should be into getting more quality mids. We started with Melksham and Colyer last season and we need to continue that in the 2010 draft...

Brodie Smith please!!!

Gee that's still a massive list.
IMO

Stanton - keep - 3 yr deal
Houli - keep - 2 yrs
Davey - may leave
Myers - keep - 2 yrs
Jetta - keep - 3 yrs
Atkinson - offer for trade, may be a delsting
Laycock - keep - 1 yr
T.Slattery - keep - 1/2 yrs
H.Slattery - keep 2 years.

I thought we signed Hank for two years.

Atkinson i would keep as he seemed to be playing with many coaches / people giving him a mountain of instructions which does confuse all players . Instructions must be short and of quality .Players do replays of matches and opponents and they are helped with what they must do in training so when the games come ...short and quality instructions only .

So you're keeping everyone? You realise you need to delist/trade 3.

and you forgot Still.

If we are to have 3 or 4 picks in the draft (not forgetting that we have already promoted Howlett to the senior list) then we have to move at least 3 or 4 players on....

Laycock, Lonergan, Atkinson are probably definates.... question mark on Davey

Rookies Williams and either Crameri/Silverlock will probably make way. Quinn and Meli are the international rookies, Bock will stay for a 3rd year. Rigga to stay as a second yr rookie.

Very true - I know that players were confused to what to do last season.
