On SEN SA podcast, yesterday, i think it was M. Rucci who said that the Adelaide players would be on holiday when Crows review is scheduled to be conducted; implying that players wouldn't be available to give feedback, in person, to those undertaking the review. If true, that would seem strange in that it would appear to effect the depth/quality of player feedback.

Very weird unless players have already spoken, they are going to ignore the players feedback or Ricciuto knows better.

Suns will be getting a Priority Pick it seems.

So pick 8 is bumped down to pick 9.

And you know, I am very comfortable with that decison. Every since Jordy Lewis broke Patrick Cripps Jaw, and Dees fans laughed about it I have carried a grudge against them.

Also Crows pick gets bumped to 4th too. :D

Spot on. Difference between pick 2/3 or 3/4 is much more significant than 8/9.

I really hope suns get that PP and the afl comes out before next year stating that it is the last one....

I don’t mind either. Reckon the pending departures of Jack Martin and Callum Ah Chee (and possibly others?) will only increase the likelihood/justification for awarding them Pick #1 as a PP.

Sounds like everyone is wanting to split picks.

The only problem is that GWS are probably the only club in a position to move up the draft.

With Tom Green as an academy selection, they may wish to swap those picks for future first rounders and match that bid with chump change.

Just think it's strange that Adelaide are trying to split their selection. That tells me we most likely won the trade.

Wouldn’t mind seeing what they traded for those players...and what they traded(draft picks/players) turned into (what they missed out on).
Probably even funnier than the list itself.

This from one of their misguided/delusional/bias (not sure if 1 or all 3)

"I did this analysis for a long time and even started a debate on the Carlton thread and I got my thread closed, but I got my point across before it got closed as most didn't even know we got their 3rd rounder but after explaining to them they needed to look at the trade more closely (and take into consideration the strength of the draft) there were no more debate with me....most agree in the end and that they would have prefer pick 21 in 2018 compared to pick 16 in 2017 (which put that early 3rd rounder difference to maybe mid 4th rounder), I can't see now difficult it is for you 2 to see my excellent analysis, it's simple logic and football knowledge"

No you didn't get your point across

All of us were aware we gave up a 3rd rounder in the deal

No more debates as you were told to jog off

Lastly, no one agreed with you

Well done and thank you.
Few hits and misses there. Certainly makes for interesting reading. No doubt we’ve followed a similar path in regards to success, or lack off.

I will admit that the Crows are very good at talent identification, but average at trading and poor at player retention

I’ve just read the rumours around a possible exodus from there. Sounds to me it’s an ultimatum, either coach and staff go or the players.
You’d think players will win that battle. If not, than it’s certainly the most stubborn club in the league at present.

Players been disgruntled and wanting out has been around for a while, hinted at the rumour mid year( will try and find the post)

It is now coming to a head

It was a similar end to last year I believe. Interesting fall out from a grand final loss. Clearly didn’t handle the hangover well at all.

Clubs think that you could get a similar quality player in the mid teens as you could in the mid 1st rd. Sounds like a good draft to trade out of.

Plus an extra pick in last year's stronger draft = great result for us.

I was told elsewhere on BF after round 23 that it was a terrible result for Carlton. The guy decided to focus on trading down the draft pick in this years weak draft as the reason why it was terrible. He supports Freo so it wasn’t as if he was being biased either.

He also said that in order for Carlton to have won the trade we needed to make the finals, so basically getting a better pick from Adelaide than what we give them this year, as well as last years freebie pick 19. Just all around horrible analysis.

Watch them trade 9 and 19 for Pick 4, only to trade Pick 4 out for Picks 12 and 14. They'll then claim that Picks 12 and 14 are much better than Picks 9 and 19, even though the Pick 19 was in a significantly stronger draft.

Honestly though - I have my doubts that GWS would trade up to Adelaide's pick. They'd be concerned that Melbourne may still bid on Green at 3, forcing GWS to match with Pick 4.

Melbourne have apparently flagged that they'd be willing to trade their first rounder out. Woudn't be surprised if GWS go straight to them with Picks 12 and 14, and maybe throw in a fringe player for good measure.

Okay, thanks. I thought maybe it works in a different way. If 5 for 10 does happen, it ruins the whole trade for the Crows.

Makes no difference to the Crows if Green goes ahead of their pick. Doesn't change who is available for them at all.

They'll get either the 3rd or 4th non-academy selection in the draft, dependent on whether GC get a priority pick.
