What a nothing response. Reeks of like fishing from the few female posters there are.

Old mate's advice while blunt and not necessary applicable to the situation(s) is to men or a man in particular. If you want to improve at something your first port of call is look inward. Definition of insanity being doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result and all that.

'Woman hating' would be to say that all women are kents and will break your heart anyway so become a robot and dispense with the notion of relationships. It's not woman hating or woman blaming, it's man blaming. Or man correcting/encouraging really.

Sure maybe you don't like it but some men do need to be told to harden up. Others need to be told to soften a little. Nobody is perfect. Everyone knows a guy who falls in love with a girl 5 minutes after meeting her and it ends in tears. The vast majority of women run from that.

Feelings are feelings. You can't control them. Sure, you can 'harden up' (for want of a better phrase) and not break down when a girl ends it/get on with life quickly, but the initial advice was to not let your 'emotions be beholden to women'. That just seems callous to me. If you don't let people in, you end up leading a lonely life.

Being a mature adult (which is what you seem to be talking about here) is very different from actively fighting against legitimate feelings you may have. Old mate's advice was blunt and also shit.

1. Solves nothing, not to mention the fact that 'boning her sister' has diddly-squat to do With his feelings for her....Other than getting lost in a spiral of meaningless, reactive revenge sex.....Way to lead a fruitless future existence.

2. You probably won't be seeing her again anyway, so what's the point of the embittered meaningless act of vengeance?....Other than making the hole in your soul even deeper & far more complex.

3. Being motivated by pain, anger & vengeance is no way to lead one's life, it just disempowers your own agency completely thereafter.

4. Men need to learn to feel their pain, deal with it & then move on....Wanting to 'see the world burn' is just an inversion for the fact that your on soul has been gutted....Instead of re-enacting that holocaust within externally, over & over, one needs to begin to heal & re-generate inside....That requires opening yourself up totally to the pain & suffering by admitting you've been hurt badly by a woman…..Only by owning that pain utterly & opening up to it square in the face, does the healing process begin.
