How has Rudd helped the 'working family' ?

If the shareholders thought beyond the initial greed and kept their prices lower, with fuel going up as high as u say, then id say just about everyone would be switching to gas, thus giving the Gas companys a monopoly on the market.

do all states offer rebates for gas conversion? I think the cost is probably the prohibitive part of the conversion? I know in WA they pay just about all of the cost...oil is heading north but I don't know if fuel prices will soar so long as the AUD keeps close to parity with the USD. It could be much higher if not for the current strength of our dollar.

time will tell...

read the whole thread first before posting goose and piss off with your woefull stereotypes. Isnt there some whales u should be out saving instead of talking crap in here?

I did & all I saw was whiney bastards saying but hey, we have huge mortgages & sending our kids to private schools, paying a fortune for petrol for our 4 wd;s, we need help. PPPFFFTTT.

What about working families who can't afford to buy their own home & have to rent, they are struggling more than you mortgage payers, who at the end will at least have a home you can call your own & not worry, whether next year you mightn't have somewhere to live.

Welcome to the australia that little johnny has made.

A racist, xenophobic, homophopic, only the rich have a right to a good life.

When I was a renter I can tell you I was a good $700 better off p/month than I am now with a mortgage not that Im complaining.

Speak to Juddism.

He's paid off he's mortgage and he's got plenty of advice for you.

People can pay off their motgages, if they don't waste their money on plasmas TV's & surround sound & all the other expensive crap.

That wasn't my point. What about the people who don't have rich parents, or well paid jobs, but are still married with kids. They also are working families, who gives a shit about them, the coward government didn't, just hope Rudd does.

ok..but what have they done to help themselves? two way street if you ask me...I kinda hope that the govt doesn't bail anyone out because I never had govt help, selfish I know, but I just don't believe its the govt job...

like I said politicians say what it takes for the top job.

He's paid off he's mortgage and he's got plenty of advice for you.

yes..but comparing prices back then with now is ridiculous, if I sold my home tomorrow I'd be pushing shit up hill getting a new house. Only advice is save the money.

Ur place should be at least 3 times what u paid for it shouldnt it Juddism?
And the other bit of advice is get into the market as early as u can and pay a big portion off while u have no other priorities (kids).

Apart from the fact he has only been in governent for just over a month. As I said before, him & his missus are rich pricks, that's the problem with the country now, all the leaders only care about the rich, if only Gough wasn't targetted by the CIA, our country would be a better place now.

its worth a nice price..the problem is finding something in Perth for the same or less. its ok saying that its worth X amount but getting that for a start is the first problem...its only ever worth that on paper or until someone signs on the line and coughs up what you ask.

Well,
1. I've had two interest rate rises costing me about $45 a fortnight.
2. Petrol has actually gone up costing me another $10 a week.
3. Food and other costs have either remained the same or gone up fractionally.
4. Irrelevent to the Feds I know but my wife had to take a day off work without pay because the teachers were on strike the other day - Under an ALP govt. Thankyou Ms Blewett and Thankyou Mr Brumby.

Am I better off ?

Dunno, but can you also detail how your snout has gone in the middle class family welfare trough?

How is your Part A and B going, childcare payments etc?

If you bag single folk, just remember to thank them for funding your trough.

He is only having a go at the single folk who look down on families from on high and cast judgement and spiel how they should be doing this, and not doing that.

I am still yet to hear how a 'working family' is better off under Rudd.

Okay - so he's been in office 100 days. Hardly had enough time to make any decisions realistically.

But, here is something I do know.

Because he's removing AWA's as part of his IR changes, it makes my job as a union rep a lot easier when it comes to negotiating the EBA we have due in a few months time (negotiations are just getting under way) - we are under less pressure to get the EBA right.

All you have is some childs perspective of being raised by a single parent. Thats about as accurate as Rudds memories of sleeping in a car.

When you have some kids of your own then you may have some idea, but for now you just sound like some immature pratt.

On the contrary, assuming Juddism is telling the truth, he stands as a model to all you laddos, demonstrating what can be achieved when you are young by actually saving money and not blowing all of it.

Also it is my long time experience that males who have been brought up by single mothers are generally far more self reliant and empathetic as men since they've not had to undergo the ordeal in adolescence of competing with their fathers.

well nobody else can do it for me...I wouldn't expect a single mother on a widows pension too be able to cover a mortgage for myself..(no siblings) so I just wonder why it is that we have a thread asking what Rudd has done for working families when the simple question I posed can't be answered.

I've been working since I was nearly 13 so if you can't save money for a house in a 20 yr period then you never will...yes I am very self reliant, when I did live with my mother I did all my own grocery shopping, cleaning, washing etc...though I will admit that some of my mates that were in the same boat are clueless when it comes to domestic life. I think I learnt that whilst I was in the cub/scouts during my young years.

No. That is absurd. Govts exist to serve people, not the other way around.

No doubt, but coming from you, who wants to remove economic responsibility of the government by slashing taxes and reducing government income, it's a bit ironic.

he above comment is usually spoken by people who espouse the welfare state where the government's job is to provide welfare services, the lot, something you oppose, and want cuts to government spending instead.

Damn there are some idiots here. Irony anyone?

I'm an ignoramus on workplace laws - but how is having less pressure to get something 'right' better for anyone?

Because had the AWA's been in place and no agreement was reached, those certainly in the industry I work in would have got basically what the employer was willing to give us in the AWA. There is no threat of that happening now, so as employees, we can ask employers for a bit more in terms of pay and conditions than what we otherwise would have got.

Come off it Jane, daytripper was talking about looking after the kids, paying the mortgage etc, hardly what I would call blowing money. FFS, he wasn't talking about partying every weekend, getting pissed and visiting prostitutes.

Juddism has no idea about the financial preasures of raising a family and it showed in his haughty pratonising and naive comments.

But on the plus side, yes I agree, good on him for what he has accomplished so far. I was very much like him in my younger days with the same attitudes to families with kids, makes me cringe a bit now.

Jeez.
I hope you give your kids the opportunities you obvously missed out on.
