Vic How would you rate Daniel Andrews' performance as Victorian Premier? - Part 4

Andrews should sue Peter Credlun , Rita Panehy, Andrew Bolt and Sky 'news' for defamation and slander.
It has been a disgusting display of partisan political point scoring and I don't even vote Labor.
These sky news sycophants do it all for money.
Ratings aren't a concern for sky news, Murdoch is pouring money into wages for these far right wing jerks for his own agenda, which is to open up and let workers get covid so he can maintain his profits.
The 'put your boots out the front of your house' to protest Andrews was truly disgusting.
These parasites are on $500,000 a year at least.

Yep.. sky news and how much money a private company (not taxpayers) pays its staff is what I'm worried about right now. Maybe a journo can just find someone who remembers being r*ped by all those people 30 years ago!

Little confused how they dont worry about ratings, just profits though. Dont all private media companies worry about both?

It's only if you're funded by taxpayers that you don't have to worry about what the public actually think of your opinions.

Never mind, let me find a picture of Andrew Bolt to scream at for 2 minutes.

How could anyone know that now..

This all makes you think we might as well give up living in Victoria in winter until we're 70% vaccinated.

Merlino has already hinted at restrictions continuing through the Queen's birthday long weekend.

Word is there's major concern about it slipping out again if people move around during the holidays, and the Govt don't want to introduce a lockdown while people may be away.

Preference is to restrict movement rather than snap lockdowns, they don't want a repeat of the chaos seen on New Years Eve

Its always someone else’s fault.

Since yesterday they have been saying it could be from nsw, country Vic, or North Melbourne. The problem is with no other matching virus noone knows.

So the government still showing they cant live with covid or more to the point don't want too, most frightened city in the most frightened state in the most frightened country in the world.

How are people coping that all their efforts in 2020 counted for naught because if the government actually learnt to cope with covid instead of being so afraid of it and not adopting this stupid 0 covid policy then 70 active cases shouldn't ever be cause for concern but here we are acting like it's 7000.

Great.. that’s all we neeed

No shit, that's why this one has everyone worried

It's not like usual where we know X had it in HQ, so try and link to them. As of this morning, noone in Australia has tested for the genetic match of this virus.

Which leads to the next big question, where did this leak from.

Us being locked down as this happened is the only bit of good luck we have had (which shows you Melbourne's luck is completely ****ed)

Which is why all these stupid rules people are obsessing over is for nothing, all a complete waste of time because as soon as a few cases pop up again in a few months time Victoria will be in Lockdown number 5.

But keep wearing your mask, stay home, qr code, get tested because we need to stop the spread................................until we need to do it all again that is and then make sure you do all that stuff so we can stop the spread next time as well. A revolving door which will never stop while we have this idiotic 0 policy.

Especially when it the same area of Melbourne every single time, yet everyone gets punished. Even more ridiculous when regional Victoria is locked up over a handful of cases in a small area of Melbourne as was the case on Valentines Day.

So let me get this straight. Andrews was planted here as a CCP agent and worked his way to the top. All he has done is remove some level crossings and build a few tunnels. BUT look who builds that infrastructure CHINESE owned John Holland and CPB Contractors. Whats worse is these tunnels are being used to hide children. Now he is deliberately destroying small business so when borders reopen the Chinese can come and buy everything - Andrews is already in China, thats why we haven't seen him. The broken back was a rouse to distract from the escape mission. Victoria will be the next Taiwan I'm told. Also rumours of Morrison parachuting in are back on the cards after the language used in his most recent press conference. This is what I was told as I lined up to get my slow released euthanasia jab (Pfizer) in Melbourne today. 🤦‍♂️

Just tried to book vaccination. 24/6 earliest available date in CBD. All the sites in east of city waiting for supply so not taking bookings at moment. 24/6 was snapped up during the booking process. Told the lady happy to travel so off to Gippsland on Monday.

I'd love to know the numbers of suicides/consults with mental health practitioners over this 'short lockdown' as opposed to the deaths directly due to corona virus infection.

This is only anecdotal, but I know of 4. Two friends of a couple of my friends from this lockdown (one last Friday, one on Monday), and two last year (my wife's hairdresser's boyfriend and the brother of a contractor my dad does work for). I still don't know of anyone that has had covid. One of my friends is an undertaker and said there was a slight uptick in his work last year, too early to say for this one yet though. We're told these decisions are based on health advice to save lives, we get daily updates on case numbers but nobody seems to be counting the cost on health from other factors of these decisions.

The sheer number of thousands of Indians/Filipinos that I see every day with my own eyes (outside of lockdowns) going about my business working as bus/tram/taxi/couriers/uber/delivery drivers, in the hospitality/retail industry (supermarkets, servos, restaurants etc..), in the health sector/nursing homes with basic TAFE certification working as nurse assistants and the like, security guards, cleaning industryt etc, etc, etc

The bulk of which are able to get residency via the joke that is the education sector that is used by a large portion of so-called international 'students' as an unofficial backdoor into Australia.

I doubt very much that those numbers can be matched by migrants from these regions who actually have professional white collar credentials. Not that I have anything against migration, I'm for a migration program that is moderate and proportionate to the needs of Australia (not just governments stop-gap solutions) and hopefully varied from different regions, not just a handful of countries that risks creating ghettos.

But it seems that both major parties (this isn't just a Labor/leftwing thing) answer to keeping the economy chugging along is just to continue to bring in hundreds of thousands low skilled migrants from developing countries to keep the minimum wage down and increase the tax base and voter base as well in Labor's case. That is not a long term solution and the consequences of this will eventually blow up in our faces if it hasn't begun already though housing unaffordability or lack thereof.

This is one of the many reasons i think the culture of lockdowns is so dangerous and reckless. It's so unheard of and untested there is literally no way of knowing what the long term impacts of this course of action could be. And that's not talking just mental health, but the whole scope of our society and way of life. The wash up in ten years time will tell a very grim tale of what lockdown achieved and what it caused, in my opinion.

Pandemics are a health issue so I understand the need for politicians to seek advice from professionals, but entire states and their economic decisions are being put into the hands of bureaucrats with no experience or qualifications to do so. I hope we have a proper royal commission into the entire nation's response once this is done, not to lay blame or score points, but to see what worked and what didn't and put the report into a drawer for next time. We might be saving people from covid but the impact on lives from mental and economic issues these decisions are contributing to is unknown and seemingly ignored.
