The secondary Tier 1 isolations has put undue pressure on all sectors of the economy, and for the past month or so it has been for no reason

I think the Delta strain itself moved those goalposts. Far more infectious than the first lot, and once it gets beyond containment lines all you can do is boost your vaccination rates as far up the charts as you can get them for every age group and hope for the best once hitting that 80% or higher target makes lockdown unneccesary.

Malone's experiments back in the 70's don't equate to him being the inventor of mRNA technology like he constantly claims. He also keeps insisting people not take the proven vaccines and instead rely on ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, fluvoxamine, Vitamin D, etc... I think there are two parts (at least) to this.

She can genuinely hold those views and so can they, OK.

But she is non-operational so cannot have been involved in enforcing anything at all. To resign in principle about something that you haven't actually been asked to do is a very big call.

I do think there is something else going on. I don't know whether this will turn out to be a political stunt, or whether she is being investigated and is trying to staple herself to a cause but I'll be surprised if there is some kind of extra story.

New genomic samples from Victoria on NextStrain after a 2 1/2 month wait.

For the few months, there have been reports that there was a 3rd incursion from NSW, based on genomic data that wasn't publicly available.
The samples released today show a very distinct cluster originating in NSW, that looks to be completely separate to samples taken around the time of the Sydney Removalists and Coles Craigieburn cluster. Unfortunately due to the time that has passed and the sub-sampling NextStrain uses, it's hard to know for certain based on the genomics maps we have access to.

For reference the trees are from NextStrain/GISAID





This red box I believe is the NSW removalist cluster, but notice that there are no further cases linked to it since the end of July. I think that it's possible they actually extinguished this particular outbreak. They may also have more samples beyond that, that haven't been uploaded yet, but as far as I can tell, the same lab is the source for all the Victorian samples shown.

I think the orange box could be potentially be the Coles Craigieburn cluster, but it's hard to tell with the sub-sampling. If it is, I believe that was also extinguished. This leaves the 3rd set of cases that could be from an unknown 3rd source in NSW. Again it's very hard to know from this data because of the way they sub-sample results.


Anyway, I'm not an expert, I could be interpreting it completely incorrectly and there could be more data that says this is all wrong.
