Hospitals are seriously struggling with 29 patients in ICU, peak is still 2 weeks away and rumblings of October 26th being pushed out a week.

Source is from my mate who works at the Austin.
This is absolutely not what I've heard.

There has been a significant repurposing of staff from hospitals/primary care, to the vaccine effort.

The shortages will ease as we start to hit our benchmarks. Has zero to do with level of current cases in ICU. It's also not unique to Victoria.

I'm not, the firefighters investigation is about to be another false dawn for the #SackDanAndrews crowd.

If there was one issue that has received inordinate scrutiny from the press (pre-COVID), way out of proportion with it's relevance, it is this one. The restructuring of the fire services in Victoria was necessary. It hasn't been a disaster like many promised. They've also been digging for Dan related scandal for years and come up stumps.
It may be another false dawn.
You said though the reporter was backpedalling when those articles were about separate investigations

Ive eyed off November for a while. October I hope they get their hospitals together and ready.

This is of course dependant on Dan sticking with the roadmap and ignoring Burnett and their worst case scenarios, which i think he will stick with roadmap this time around.

I’ve thought this as well. I’ve been to two different state hubs and there’s enormous amounts of staff working at each. Surely when we hit 80% most of these state hubs can close (expect for a couple of the bigger ones) and vaccine efforts can go through the GP network. I’d say there’s 1000’s of staff tied up in the vaccine rollout.

A bit unrelated but is it common for a treasurer to not have any financial background?
Federally, it's very common.

Chris Bowen had an economics degree and Joe Hockey was a financial lawyer for a time. I think you would have to go back a way to find anything more substantive than that.

What a load of bullshit it’s a known fact that young people have been infecting households plus the fact that on Mother's Day there was only 19 cases of covid reported and no curfew.

And how many who would be young enough to have teenage children have died?

Also the Mothers Day comment was in relation to Dans own claims last year anyone who visited their mother would kill her. Yes, there have been no deaths related to Mother’s Day visits, funny that…

If he keeps his words and the vaccination keeps going, below are the dates we may enjoy.

I hope this happens if for no other reason that it should prevent woke ****heads whinging about two fifths of **** all double-vaccinated people attending a 126 hectare site with strict COVID practices to watch one of the world's premier horse races when "you can't even visit your own family".

Wrong on all counts, it is a disaster but no one cares cos Covid and the union got what they want so they now ignore when dozens of trucks are offline cos there’s no political mileage to be gained.

It wasn’t necessary and it isn’t working. You can’t take a metropolitan fire service and dump it in Mildura!

There was not much covid on Mothers day this year and visits cancelled last year so it worked no dead mums :thumbsu:

The school teacher set off a very big cluster in the western suburbs. Is that what you are referencing?
It's been a bit of time, but the school teacher was revealed on the 3rd-4th of August, and the first sample in that 3rd group is on the 3rd of August, so it looks to match up. But it's hard to tell with certainty.

Yeah cos no one visited their mothers…

You’re the one trying to push this false narrative that kids will kill their parents because they’re breaking the rules, yet everyone’s been doing it for 18 months and only been killing off grandparents in nursing homes…

Keating didn't have one either. But he was also known for learning what he needed to.
Holt was the best; after presenting each annual Budget, he immediately pissed off overseas, because he was totally clueless whenever anyone asked him any questions about it.

They'll still bitch. The numbers were already looking like we'd hit 80% around Cup Day when the Cup Day crowd was announced. Not to mention kids are already being phased back to in school learning from next week with Preps back Monday -Wednesday and Grade 1 & 2 on Thursday - Friday.
