1000000 in the first month as promised would have given us some pretty good headway - plus vaccinated all the vulnerable and their carers before winter and Delta though.Pfizer tried to fu** us over. They are a ruthless company and by all accounts, difficult to deal with.
Given how complacent and easy going Australians are ( you know, the “she’ll be right” attitude), do you honestly believe Australians would have reached over 80% double vaccination by the end of 2021 if we had ample vaccination from Day 1? Very few countries achieved that. UK hovered around 65-70% for ages. USA was less. And as we know, even with high vaccination rates Covid can still infiltrate

95% vaccination rate and we’ve got more rapid spread than ever before, so how does this vaccine reduce transmission?
I think I did explain it.
Are you of the view we’d have exceeded 90% in Victoria if there had been ample doses from the outset?
I don’t and as eddiesmith pointed out you only have to look at how slow QLD and WA were in their take up rates
you could leave aswell, dont let the door hit your arse on the way outIf you are sick of senseless fighting in this forum why stick around, we won't miss you and you will probably feel better

you can talk your all over this forum with your 13,000 posts, do you have any hobbies bet notWhy am I always suspicious of someone who joins BigFooty to post almost exclusively about politics

If I have more posts in another sub-forum than the SRP board, then you have to nuke your BigFooty account.
I’ve got hobbies outside of correcting fools like you. Remember Victoria does NOT have half the population of NSW, no matter how many times you say it.

Mr. Football has only 1 football-related postOh no-- I've been "champed"
Anyone who's a "football person" doesn't join BigFooty in December & post almost exclusively in the SRP board unless you're an alt account, have previously had an account deleted by Chief or a straight up troll.

Anyone with even a degree of political acuity and/or, to use your words, "a half- functioning brain" could see the politicisation by Scummo. However, even a cursory look around via the medya, forums , personal contacts should make you aware that reasonable political acuity isn't as prevalent as you appear to believe whereas "half-functioning" political brains are.Anyone with a half functioning brain can see this is ALL political.
It's an absolute joke, and an embarrassment to this country.
Both the State and Federal Governments should be ashamed of themselves, an all round appalling effort from both sides
Can confirmAnyone who spends time down here is broken in some way.
You are such a massive hypocrite on 2 fronts. Firstly the view I expressed lacks plausibility according to you because there is no evidence to support it. Yet your opinion, which also cannot be proved to demonstrate we’d have hit 90+%, is supposedly credible? We will never know, but if experience in other states and overseas is any indication we’d have struggled.Umm-- I don't think you did, you're just making a claim that's got no evidence or rationale behind it.
Yes.
Because at the start of Lockdown #4, #5 & #6 lead to an increased uptake of vaccinations within the older community. Unfortunately the vaccine was only available to those aged 40+.
If we had sufficient vaccine supply in May we would have seen a higher uptake during those three occasions and would have sat at 60-70% in May rather than the last week of September. Half of the Australian population was denied a vaccine for most of winter because of lack of supply.
But QLD and WA have had different experiences with the pandemic than Victoria did. We would have still faced lockdowns even if we were vaccinated.
Victoria didn't reach COVID zero from Delta, we vaccinated our way out. So the 'stragglers' that only did it because of mandates, etc would have been required in August rather than October and Victoria would have had less time in lockdown.
Vaccination ended lockdown.
