OPTION 1:
Essendon Lose: Lovett, Nash
Essendon Gain: Willaims, Pick 40

Port Lose: Burgoyne, Pick 40
Port Gain: Lovett, Nash, Pick 9

Hawthorn Lose: Pick 9, Willaims
Hawthorn Gain: Burgoyne

OPTION 2:
Essendon Lose: Lovett, Nash
Essendon Gain: Thorpe, Pick 24

Port Lose: Burgoyne, Pick 24
Port Gain: Lovett, Nash, Pick 9

Hawthorn Lose: Pick 9, Thorpe
Hawthorn Gain: Burgoyne

It's hard to look at potential trades through unbiased eyes but in my opinion. Option 1 is very fair for all teams. Option 2 perhaps Essendon is the loser there. Some may say Port are being hard done by in both but I can't see a better offer coming their way for Burgoyne.

I don't like Lovett, and but if we can't get Lewis, then i'll probably settle for this deal on the last day of trade week.

That's what I'm thinking might happen. Essendon don't want nothing for Lovett and same goes for Burgoyne and Port. It's a case of we'll take what we get given.

Surely Port don't want Andrew Lovett. Aside from him being considerably disliked by all of the Port players, Choco must surely realise that they don't need another zippy excitement machine on their list.

Whether Essendon pursues Burgoyne or not, Rohde confirmed Port Adelaide was interested in the 26-year-old midfielder.
"We've spoken to Andrew Lovett … but there's a few issues to still be sorted through there," he said.
"We're far from committed to him but in the next day or two we're going to sort that out, so we know whether that can be part of the [Burgoyne] deal or not.
"Andrew certainly has indicated that he's interested in talking to us … we've got to sort through contracts and things.
"We're not exactly sure where it'll go but it might be part of it."

This is only my opinion but I would have thought that with Jolly becoming available, and the retirement of Robert Campbell, Hawthorn would be stupid not to go hard for Jolly. A trade for Jolly would require at least the Hawks pick 9.
Wouldn't Jolly be a much more required player than Burgoyne?

Yep...couldn't agree more!!!

Hathorn already has a very capable midfield...you'd think Jolly would be hire on their list.

Option 1 would be great... yes we are losing Lovett but Mark Williams would look great in our forward line. Haw get their man and Port are at least compensated for Burgoyne.

Id get down to Etihad if i were you!!

Why would Essendon help to get the Burgoyne deal done for Hawthorn, when they are desperate to get him down to their club ?????

we were desperate to get him but i think the club knows its a bit of a lost cause now... i think we should focus on just getting something for Lovett and not lose him to the Dockers for nothing.

At this stage I think Hawthorn are pretty confident of convincing Burgoyne to go to the ND and then picking him up with pick 9 alone, so I think it's pretty unlikely we'd offer more than that.

We've put 9 plus a fringe player on the table to save the risk that someone else would take him, but we'd see that as a pretty small risk and not worth paying much for.

That might change through the week if a pick in the 6-8 range changed hands though.

If Hawthorn are going to trade Kennedy, it should be to Sydney so we can secure a 2nd round pick, we'll then use that pick to get a ruckman, Griffen, Charman.

Pick 9 + Thorp/McGlynn/Tuck/Morton/ for Burgoyne.

What i hear is Lovett and Pick 9 to Port for SB
Hawks get SB
Bummers get Williams and pick 24 from Port.

Real legs to this, so the OP is not far off the mark at all.

Ess would be insane to agree to this. Lovett is better than the injury prone Williams, and why on earth would we downgrade our pick 9 to pick 24????

Shocking deal for the Dons. Wont happen

Think he means we keep our pick #10. #9 is Hawks pick.
