Yes it is significant. But when one chapter ends another starts and so if that day is significant in the destruction and ending of a culture and way of living on this land it must also have significance to the creation of a new way of living on this land. Arguments that argue for a better date sure go for it, but arguments that try to devalue Jan 26 and say its a nothing day are obviously hypocritical when those people are using the words Invasion Day.
