As a Delisted Free Agent or a late draft selection I wouldn't mind Lamb. But in terms of trading he's not worth anything.

Surprise, surprise, the Blues (aka GWS mkII) are trying to nab Smith.Trade Possibles: going through the list of uncontracted players in 2017, these appear to be possible diamonds in the rough...
Tom Rockliff (Bris)- contract 3-4 years will give Bris a compo pick
Jake Lever (Adel)- will cost a lot to trade and with contract(maybe too much?)
Caleb Marchbank (Carl)- (uncontracted atm, if Carlton go big on Rockliff, he might be available?)
Jarrod Pickett (Carl)- (uncontracted atm, might be worth picking up for cheap)
Tom Phillips (Coll)- (uncontracted atm, might be worth picking up for cheap)
Harley Balic (Freo)- (uncontracted atm, "on indefinate leave for personal reasons" red flag?)
Darcy Lang (Geel)- (uncontracted atm, read in a paper geelong are considering trading him to make space for stringer and ablett???)
Josh Schoenfeld (GCS)- (uncontracted atm, young outside runner, might be worth a trade for a nothing pick)
Matthew Kennedy (GWS)- (uncontracted atm, could be worth a trade with puopolo?)
Devon Smith (GWS)- (uncontracted atm, i hear we might be into him from trade whispers? idk how to feel about this?)
Jake Batchelor (Rich)- (uncontracted atm, might be worth a late pick)
Tom Lamb (WCE)- (uncontracted atm, might be worth picking up)
some talent going cheap, some of them worth a look, #BriansBargains
I wouldn't be surprised by, or unhappy with, a straight swap of Billy Hartung for Tom Lamb.
Tom Lamb (West Coast)
A 20yr old with elite endurance who stands at 193cm. Has strong hands, athleticism and versatility. Played mostly wing and half-forward in the WAFL.

If I was Hawthorn i still wouldnt be interested. Would want to net a high as pick as possible for Hartung if we were to trade him or package him with a pick or another player for a better playerAs West Cost supporters should know their player, Mitchell5 you are probably right that a straight swap isn't a fair trade. A swap of Draft Picks is needed: Maybe WC pick 29 for the Hawks pick 39. Which is eq. to Harting for Lamb + Pick 45
That I understand. If Hartung is to go to West Coast (the basis of my first mention of Lamb), then the Hawks clearly should get the best possible trade terms. If West Coast want him and Gaff wants to come to Vic, then as long as it doesn't cost us too much (2018 picks) then great. If I was Hawthorn i still wouldnt be interested. Too slow, gets killed going the other way. What about Anthony Miles? I like the look of him

DINGLEYLAND!!The Balic train looked headed for Dingley at full speed a week or so ago, now it seems to have disappeared like MH370...
I've been looking him up in the last 2 weeks...I hope we're still in the frame
Agree with what your saying, but Roughead, Rioli won't be going anywhere not everyone over 25 will be moved, but the fact is Smith is the type of player contending teams would pay for, the combination of speed/endurance is rare. I'm saying that he is 28 and will be during the trade period why not trade him this year and get the best value in return? He will be 29 by the start of next year (30/12) and the whole 30 turns clubs off. There's a reason that clubs don't just trade away all their older players. Smith won't go anywhere, especially as he's so integral to our game plan (has been for 5 years now).
We probably do have a few too many stars that are the wrong side of 29 - but the club has decided the immediate future and it's called Roughead, Shiels and Smith. Others may be on the way out now but not those three.
also where is that information coming from? Have I missed something?Agree with what your saying, but Roughead, Rioli won't be going anywhere not everyone over 25 will be moved, but the fact is Smith is the type of player contending teams would pay for, the combination of speed/endurance is rare. His currency is on a downward spiral and he can get us a pick that can be used for a similar player. He should most definitely be a trade option because I'd be surprised if he's around for our next flag. There will still be senior players around and he would probably command more than Brad Hill.

And I appreciate your different point of view on Lamb. It made me look more closely at his recent football form and reviews. I am now more convinced there is a diamond in the rough for the taking.
193cm elite endurance athletes with, good pace, nice foot skills and sure hands don't come along every day. Surely Clarko and Co could mould him into a significant player.
Aside: he also interviews very well. He seems a good guy.
Hearsay is that his attitude/work ethic on the track is not fit for standards. Inconsistency was one of his big knocks as a junior as well.
Certainly has the talent but I'm turned off a lot by what I've heard about him.
Role: Wingman straight swap for Hartung. What role would Lamb play?
He has played one game in 3 years at West Coast and after seeing him play for East Perth when I was over for the previous two years he looks no more then an average WAFL player.
Regardless of his personal issues, I wouldn't want Stringer. There is seems to be an unbelievable amount of hype for a guy that has had one great season, averages low disposals and has poor kicking efficiency. Good luck to anyone picks his overrated ass up.

He would be worth a second rounder. Would you rather a second round pick, or Isaac Smith for 3-4 more years?Agree with what your saying, but Roughead, Rioli won't be going anywhere not everyone over 25 will be moved, but the fact is Smith is the type of player contending teams would pay for, the combination of speed/endurance is rare. How did they get marchbank to come across on a one year deal? Wtf is his manager doing?Trade Possibles: going through the list of uncontracted players in 2017, these appear to be possible diamonds in the rough...

Loosing Hill hurt the Hawks greatly.Agree with what your saying, but Roughead, Rioli won't be going anywhere not everyone over 25 will be moved, but the fact is Smith is the type of player contending teams would pay for, the combination of speed/endurance is rare.
