So we are handing over 6and another pick from next year in exchange for Prestia and 24 or 26 thus year , we have made a major coup;)

Who says the Tigers aren't tough negotiators.....pmsl

Note to self, don't buy anything of this bloke........

Your word might not mean much to you but mine does pal. If I agree to do something I do it, I might not have a document saying I will do it but if I gave my word then that's it. Some people.........

And as you're learning right now, it doesn't mean much to others, especially in football.

But hey, if you'd rather bend over and take it just so you can keep your word, then good for you. :drunk:

It's not about bending over and taking it or that would have happened 7 days ago. Club are trying to negotiate something back in return. If the club walks away and goes back on any agreements with player & Club then where does that leave any future negotiations next year and beyond?

Deal will happen and original agreement will be honoured, must choke you up.

175cm Prestia who in 2016 ranked 235th of all AFL players, on afl.com stats, as the 85th best midfielder, averages 23.5 disposals, 0.3 goals a game

and we give away pick 6 for him........ what a basket case we have become :drunk:

You know what RFC, just get it over and done with so I can stop getting drunk every night* and kicking my dog* in frustration...

* Not true...I have no avenues to vent my frustrations

I just posted on the Trade thread. I'm hearing we may get GCS pick 44 in addition to the other picks/swaps. At least that's been posted on another forum or two.

And further more, I have nothing against Prestia, if he becomes a Tiger, I'll support him 100%, and good on the boy for wanting to come to us. I hope he takes the next step for our sake, though I doubt he has much more to offer at 24 years of age

I blame the dumbness that exists at Tiger land
I am pretty certain if he was at RFC and wanted to leave we would get an early 2ND rounder...

RFC the new Fremantle FC to do trades with

Should be pick 6 for Prestia and their pick 26 or we just go to the draft.

Every other trade scenario where the player wants to go the club who originally has the player seems to get bent over, except for us.

Dangerfield went for only pick 9 and 28 and Geelong even got pick 52 or something back. That probably works out to be slightly less than pick 6. Amazing ....

If a persons gives their word about such topics in April by definition they are a moron, on drugs, a nutcase, or brought up in a different fishbowl of reality!!

Why pretend that this is a bunch of gentleman traders following some code of conduct? I'd love for there to be some reason why we are forced to burn pick 6 on Prestia, that would make me feel better too Prowler, but there isn't.

To me there are only 3 possible reasons to pay this much over value:
1. We have zero faith in our drafting personnel
2. Incompetence
3. We are draft tampering towards some greater end. Collusion with GCS for what? makes no sense, so I favour 1 or 2.

The amount of melts in here is ridiculous.

Until something actually happens, can people stop talking like we have already signed everything away?

At the moment it is pretty clear we are trying to orchestrate a trade that doesn't involve pick 6, and we are struggling obviously but that is our goal. And yet everyone in here is acting like we are throwing #6 at them and asking them to take more.

GC are playing hardball, we are trying to facilitate a trade where we can keep pick 6. Until anything else actually happens maybe we should hold off on the meltdowns claiming we are a joke, worst trading club ever etc.

With every media outlet report of the Prestia trade there is mention of pick 6 being involved, have never heard otherwise
RFC have not given any indication to abate this fallacy...
Thus the mass hysteria on this board

We want out club to succeed, we want a fair deal to be made, thus the voice of reason is at work on this board, it may not be pretty at times but it's out there and hope, just some hope the voice gets heard and we do not get rimmed

I am only loosely following any of it as I am currently living in Canada but what little I have seen was us saying pick 6 was off the table, and it appeared we were trying to work around it (shopping conca, lennon, lids etc). We may have softened on that stance but if we had given up on holding onto 6 then surely the trade would have been done by now.

I am not against people throwing up what they think would be fair and reasonable, but people talk like the club has given 6, dusty, rance and next years first already. Nothing has actually happened so the vitriol towards the club should really wait until something is actually official. No point getting bent out of shape about it until then.

You know what, you may be correct in your view of things, but easier said than done. Living in Melbourne, breathing football daily, watching games it becomes so much a part of you that one acts like the team is in so much a part of their life. There are those that are more animated, and portray their passion overs, and then there are the sane, relaxed type as yourself, wish I was the latter, alas I'm not :-(

I think you are correct in that we are trying to get other players involved etc otherwise the deal would have been made, I just hope we don't buckle in the end and pay overs...there are some good kids in the draft and pick 6 will get us a beauty

But but but Prestia is a big fish

It's not just RFC that do it, all clubs do this.
I will add another for you
4. Pressure on club to land "big fish" (all 175cm of it), club offers our first ND selection to club and good salary/contract period to player.

I don't think for a minute you and many many others would be livid if we were linked during the year (and even trade period) to Prestia but couldn't get it done. Club looks to have sold the farm to keep fans happy.

This is where they are wrong IMO.

Looks like they may have sold the farm to keep the fans unhappy.

I think the fans want pick 6 more than Prestia and frankly if it goes ahead then membership will be smashed for 2017 and the short term because fans are not in line with Dans thought process of making finals is adequate even if it compromises premiership goals!!!

Prestia is not a big fish and until he lifts his game, even if a RFC, he will be regarded by me as a B grader. I actually will have trouble watching Richmond with Prestia running around on 700K tbh.

I will give the club a cheque if the Prestia trade falls through!!!
