Trade him cheaply
For what? Pick 600?
No one will pick him up. He is struggling in one of the most inept forward lines in the competition. It's not like he is starved of opportunities, ala Mark Stevens at the Kangaroos.

Trade him cheaply
Names?I'm not really sure, I haven't put enough thought into it to produce a definitive list. But off the top of my head I can think of four or five players that I believe are more expendable. They are all midfielders or flankers. And that's not including Ricciuto's retirement or the possible trade of Meesen.
Names?
massie is a weak link for us but he wont get the chop (unfortunately). Same goes with doughty.I didn't give names because I haven't put enough thought into it. But if you insist then these are some of the names I'd put below Perrie, off the top of my head. And if we're talking about McGregor then the list would be a lot longer.
Doughty, Hinge, Jericho, Massie, Campbell.
Not saying I'd necessarily delist them, but without examining the entire list they sprung to mind.

Effort and courage alone isn't enough (not that I'm saying he's gone, either). If it was then this thread wouldn't be here because Perrie has loads of that stuff.
Why do people forget that Massie was drafted at number 4 and was likened to Greg Williams in his abilities. It was the speed of the game that meant that Carlton were looking to offload him from their midfield around the time everyone started looking at Athletes as the future of the game. We got him and he has been very handy for us down back. Massie has one hell of a football brain and that is something that can't be taught/created.

Looking at delistings/trades it should all be about balance in certain positions with age/experience. when renewing a list each year.I didn't give names because I haven't put enough thought into it. I'm not sure we can keep all 3 of Perrie, McGregor & Gill on the list - though I agree getting rid of 2 would be too much of a turnover.
Similarly, can we afford to keep Doughty, Massie & Torney. Again probably not & 1 should be delisted, when you have the likes of Pfeiffer through.
The pick massie went really is quite irrelevant, not sure why that angle is being played up. The reality is you can really only have so many weak links in your team before it starts to hurt you. For instance someone like scotty stevens does a job for us but when you start adding massie, doughty etc it takes the edge off of the team. These players are battlers nothing more or less. They dont have great footy brains either another myth.
With all due respect Nikki I don't care where he was drafted and what his scouting report said. That was so long ago it is hardly relevant to the Kris Massie of today. We see him play every week and that's what he's judged on. Yes he is a handy player, and he seems like an absolutely great person. But unfortunately I don't think his playing contributions have put him above this type of scrutiny. He's no certaintly to be delisted by any means, but he's no certainty to keep his spot on the list either.
getting knocked out doesnt make you a good player
Your right so by going along those lines you could draw a circle around Perrie, Doughty, Jericho, Biglands, Bode and McGregor for delisting.
From that group I would honestly say Perrie, Jericho and either Bode or Doughty would be delisted add Riccuito as a retired and you have your four taken from the 2007 list.
You'd only delist Bode due to injury concerns.
Doughty would be a trade, wouldn't get a lot, but he's a solid depth player.

I agree with Bode. I like the little bloke and like Biglands, I am not sure they'd nurse them through major injuries, only to drop them.
I really like the Bodster as well, but using your own reasoning on other players, we can't keep players on our list that are continually getting injuries.
He's played how many games now in two seasons, probably no more single figures.
