Considering the massive problems we are having batting out our 20 overs, we need to look at changing the dynamics of the team...

Ed Cowan - see the shine off the new ball for the first 12 overs
Steven Cazzulino - First Class S/R of 38 shows he can tough it out
Simon Katich (c) - bring back and instill some heart
Rahul Dravid - overseas recruit; it is T20 after all
Usman Khawaja - push forward test credentials with some solid knocks
Will Bosisto - jump straight from the U/19s playing the anchor role to doing so for the T20I team
Chris Hartley (+) - gritty, won't throw his wicket away
Jason Gillespie - need a nightwatchman
Steve Magoffin - can defend with the willow
Xavier Doherty - anyone who bowls as defensively as him should do so with the bat too; retain
Mitch Johnson - just in case we need to go for quick late runs

Guaranteed 0/40 after 20 overs.

Wes Robinson stiff.

Soon as I saw that Kiwi score I knew that Hogg had got a few. India and the other asian nations won't be troubled by nim much but he should go well against countries who crap themselves against spin... like we do.

Could open with Wes Robinson and Cazzulino just for the guffaws. Leave, leave, leave, block, leave, knock a single last ball and repeat.

I reckon he's our only spinner with the potential to trouble them, though. Sri Lanka for example haven't ever been able to pick him really.

"In Saturday's extra over, Cummins claimed 1-1 in a nerveless effort from a 19-year-old before Australia's Warner and Watson took 13 runs from a five-ball over from Tim Southee."

Interesting that they played a super-over just for practice. Nice comeback from the Pakistan game by Cummins. :thumbsu:

I remember being at the WACA for a T20 game where WA utterly slaughtered NSW. Wes and Shaun Marsh opened, they both started cautiously leaving balls, barely any boundaries but kept their wicket. Robinson reached 50 first after about 12 overs, Marsh soon after. Marsh goes absolutely nuts after that, was utterly dominant, some of the best batting you will ever see in a T20, after about 18 overs Marsh 100* with Robinson faithfully still there on 53 or something. Played a great anchor role until he thought it would be a good idea to try and scoop Mitchell Starc over the keepers head three balls in a row and was finally out.

Got off to a strong start against England but massively slowed down against the spin, warm-up match pretty much gone now. mean if Hussey can't hit out against spin we are screwed.

Edit:finally he's going after Briggs

Christian doesn't handle pressure well with bat or ball from what I've seen in this format. Hopefully he won't get much match time against decent teams.

I'd rather they play a specialist bowler instead, especially if he's going to bat that low. Bowling attack should always have Cummins, Starc and Hogg - with McKay, Hilfy and Doherty to occupy Christian's spot.
