Congrats to the Kiwi's, nor sure how they did it, but hey momentum should never be under estimated.....enjoy the spoils, at least cricket SA stayed true to form on the big stage once again.

Did I hear SA coach in match preview say, ‘we know something they don’t.’
Or words to that effect.
That’s the moment they lost the game
They never learn

A few observations about the SA batting.

Brits - seems terrible against spin.

Sune Luus- doesn’t have enough power as a batter.

Derecksen will be a good player and needs time.

De Klerk- a bit like Luus doesn’t have the power.

When you get into 9, 10 and 11 you can generally finish the SA tail off.

Someone like Lizelle Lee (who got player of the match in the WBBL spring challenge yesterday) would have been a handy player to have for a tournament such as this.

Managed to play WI and SA in the finals. They would have expected to have to play Australia and England.
Totally agree, and TBH 9 times out of ten they wouldn't of even made the final...but winners are grinners I guess, and kudos to them for making it count, when others couldn't. Good result for stalwarts in Bates and Devine I guess.

I reckon similar thing for us in 2021 when we won it in Dubai with the Mens.

Played Pakistan and New Zealand in the semi's and final.

Avoided England & India altogether.

England smashed us in the group just like the Aussies did to the Kiwis here.

The key was NZ thrashing India in the first group game both tournaments.

It meant India didnt progress to the finals.

South African cricket - the gift that keeps on giving.
They just haven't recovered from 1999 have they haha.

No matter the format or now gender.

They are paralyzed by a traumatic history in big matches.

Now the girls have lost 2 x finals in a row its only adding to the pressure & baggage for South Africa teams moving forward.

Peaked or planet's aligned? If it's the former then we can expect NZ to continue with their new found success....if the latter, then normal service will resume TBH. Besides AKerr, not sure who else delivers on the international stage for them consistently...but kudos on the win, something that can never be taken away from them.
